My teeth are yellow :-(?

i brush twice everyday(er...almost everyday)

but my teeth are yellow...they become yellow after sometime...

bleaching, dentist thg not possible right now coz i'm living in a hostel far frm the main city...

someone advised me to brush wid salt!!!

does that work???

My teeth are yellow :-(?
I used to brush my teeth with baking soda. That would help. Sometimes the environment you live in can affect the color of you teeth.
Reply:get white strips from the drug store, they really work
Reply:they make this product that you cna buy that will whiten your teeth no need for pricription.
Reply:yellow teeth sux.... i have yellow teeth too, and yeah i brush too.

There are special kits for making your teeth white.

You know, that thing you put on your teeth for half an our.
Reply:Try using baking soda. Make a paste of it with water and using like you would regular toothpaste. I would not recommend using salt as too much salt in your diet can cause major health problems. You can buy whitening toothpaste. Healthy teeth do have some yellowing. Bright white teeth isn't good for the enamel of your teeth.
Reply:Please visit "www.htclean.com/contact.htm". It may help you.
Reply:brush once a day every day
Reply:Gargle with hydrogen peroxide once or twice a day before beushing your teeth. It's super cheap (about a dollor or less for a bottle and after a few weeks your teeth will be very white.

What's a good way to whiten your teeth without getting them professionally bleached?

I've started using dissolving whitening strips, brushing more and using Listerine. What are some other tips to get my smiling nice and bright?

What's a good way to whiten your teeth without getting them professionally bleached?
People ask me this question frequently. I consistenly get compliments on my white teeth. I have even received compliments from employees at my dentist's office. You can check out my pics on MySpace if you want to see my smile:

I don't use whitestrips. They work (I used Crest Whitestrips once before my wedding almost 4 years ago), but they made my teeth too sensitive.

Here's my routine:

In the morning:

I swish a mixture of one capful hydrogen peroxide and one capful water in my mouth for a few minutes (usually 2 or 3 minutes, but I try to do it as long as possible up to 10 minutes).

I brush my teeth thoroughly.

I rinse with Listerine (as directed on bottle). I've noticed the Listerine hardly "burns" at all after the peroxide rinse.

Before bedtime:

I floss (This is so important!!! Floss everyday!!!).

I brush my teeth.

(I don't usually bother with rinses at night, but it couldn't hurt.)

Here are other habits I have that keep my teeth consistently white:

I don't smoke.

I drink plenty of water (about the amount of 4-6 bottles a day).

I rarely drink coffee, tea or soda (maybe once or twice a week). If you do drink coffee, tea or soda, make sure to drink some water immediately afterward or at least rinse out your mouth. These drinks will stain your teeth quickly!

I chew sugar-free gum like Trident or Extra after meals/snacks.

Good luck!
Reply:Bicarbonate of soda! I had really bad nicotene stains on my teeth and i rubbed it off with bicarb. Just use it everyday when you brush your teeth(also use toothpaste)
Reply:some people swear by them "crest strips" and other similar over the counter products...but be careful using them.
Reply:Baking Soda and Peroxide WITH a small amount of Toothpaste for flavor. leave it on for 2 minutes and then brush as you would normally do with regular toothpaste. Its nasty tasting but it works.
Reply:You've tried Colgate Whitening...??? Is this a rhetorical question?
Reply:you can go to the store and by crest white strips.
Reply:Drink some white-out.
Reply:Go to your dentist for regular cleanings every 6 months. That should help a lot. I wouldn't get carried away on the white strips, though. I go to my dentist regularly, use the Listerine whitening pre-brush rinse, and brush brush brush! That should be enough.

Good luck, and... SMILE!
Reply:make a paste from baking soda and hydrogen peroxide and brush. my riend does this almost daily and youd never know shes a coffee and cig freak--i asked her this?? for many moons before she broke down. it may take a couple of times before you see it-keep using dont forget to use regular paste s well for proper teeth care.ie:fluoride
Reply:Baking Soda. There is a special formula of baking soda for dental use.

Reply:hmm.. avoid drinking tea (including iced tea) and softdrinks (it contributes to make ur teeth more yellowish).. i researched about that before coz i wanted my teeth to be whiter, too.. and now, i don't drink softdrinks anymore for 2 years.. i drink iced tea occasionally.. when there's no water or juice in the store, i choose iced tea :)

u can also use Colgate Total toothpaste. it contains flouride that helps to make ur teeth whiter... when u will use other chemicals, especially the over-the-counter ones, make sure u ask ur dentist first.. because there are some products that are dangerous, making ur teeth thinner when u use them continuously

Whitening teeth w/o hurting them?

whitestrips wear away tooth enamel, so how do i whiten my teeth w/o that (or cosmetic dentistry like bleaching?)

Whitening teeth w/o hurting them?
The only way to get your teeth super white is by bleaching or veneers. Whitestrips do not wear tooth enamel away. I'm a licenced dental hygienist and I use them all of the time. They do cause sensitivity though but it goes away. That is the cheapest route. The next step up is bleaching trays and in office whitening which is expensive and not worth the cost for the instant gratification. Whatever you do do not go crazy with whitening toothpaste. This really does wear down enamel over time, esp. if you are scrubbing because you don't like the tooth color. All that makes toothpaste"whitening" is just abrasive stuff. Then you scrub off the enamel to expose the dentin which is naturally yellow in color. Sorry to ramble but I see this every day.

I am currently whitening my teeth. One of my front teeth is not taking the bleach as well as the other. Why?

There's no real way to answer that except to say that not all of your teeth will respond at the same rate. Just as some people in general respond well to teeth whitening systems while others don't at all.

I am currently whitening my teeth. One of my front teeth is not taking the bleach as well as the other. Why?
The Things That Dental Bleaching Can't Do

Today, almost everyone wanted to have a brighter and whiter smile and cosmetic dentistry such as dental bleaching is at its hype as a solution in an increase demand of dental bleaching or teeth whitening treatments. It almost created a trend to its field.

But with what it promises that it can achieved the results that you want there are still some things to consider before engaging into the procedure. Dental bleaching does not always work as what they claim to be.

Dental bleaching won't take effect on black, brown or white color in the tooth cause by decay, it should be repaired before the bleaching process. It is not also effective in patients with tetracycline stain in their tooth these are the irregular horizontal lines found in the tooth these are common with adult patients. If patient grew up in an area that has a high concentration of fluoride in their drinking water, the appearance of fluorosis will not be improved also this is also applicable to patients that who were eating fluoride toothpaste during their toddler years. And lastly it dental bleaching won't lighten or bleach out the darkness in teeth caused by old amalgam fillings.

But if you are really considering whitening or bleaching your teeth, there are several options for you to choose one is by using natural teeth whitening or bleaching products that are effective and safe to use for they do not contain harsh ingredients that may cause irritation and damage to the gums and teeth.

I am going to assume you mean a HOME remedy, and not a HOE remedy :)

Try mixing baking soda with some hydrogen peroxide, it will bubble some and then brush your teeth with it. It won't be store-brand effective, but it works! Don't swallow!

My teeth hurt worse than anything I have ever felt in my life after Crest Whitestrips Supreme, any tips?

Day 1: Two strips top and bottom for the time directed, 30 minutes each. My teeth ached the entire night and my gums were swollen. I know the bleach is stronger than the whitestrips you can buy in the store (Supreme can only be purchased from a dentist), but this kills! I don't know if I will make it the 21 days that the kit offeres with this stronger bleach.

Any tips besides sensitive tooth toothpaste and Act mouthwash to fill in areas of my teeth?

On the plus side, there are noticible results after just that one day with this stronger kit! Normallly I don't see results like this until day 3 of the Premium strips. I only do these once a year by the way just to brighten up my smile a bit, and I see my dentist twice a year for cleanings :)

The directions say that I can skip a couple of applications but that I should use all the strips in as close to 21 days as possible... so stopping until the pain goes away or wearing them every other day really won't work.

My teeth hurt worse than anything I have ever felt in my life after Crest Whitestrips Supreme, any tips?
as they say.. no pain - no gain. but see the dentist for advice just to make sure that the bleach is not too strong for ur teeth, or too irritating on ur gums.
Reply:YEAH I STOPPED USING THOSE CAUSE THEY HURT REALLY REALLY BAD. BUT THEY TEND TO HURT WORSE ON THE BOTTOM TEETH, SO I JUST PUT THEM ON THE TOP ONES FOR A WHILE =)
Reply:You could try asking your dentist for fluoride gel. It might be stronger than Act. I know what you mean though, it hurts! Definitely try using them every other day.
Reply:i would stop using them. I have crest whitestrips, and they bothered my teeth a bit but they didn't swell my gums. I know crest offers a hotline for the whitestrips, and if you call who knows, you might be able to get a refund while your at it. But be careful, you could have an allergic reaction.
Reply:I REALLY suggest you go to dentist!!!!!!

How can I make my teeth REALLYYY white without using bleach, or dentist products????

Swishing peroxide in your mouth before brushing helps as well as using a good whitening toothpaste. Aslo lemons or pure lemon juice rubbed on your teeth or swished in your mouth but make sure that you brush thoroughly afterwards because continual use of lemon without removing it from your teeth can actually take the enamel off.

How can I make my teeth REALLYYY white without using bleach, or dentist products????
Try baking soda whitening toothpaste.
Reply:Brush your teeth with a baking soda/peroxide mix. It's foamy, so make sure to only use a little of peroxide. Hope that helps! :)
Reply:uh....brush them a lot...?
Reply:U can try using lemons on the teeth..and leave them overnight..be careful not to touch the gums with the lemon juice..another way is some white powder used by Indians..but i am not so sure what is this white powder...i only know this white powder got some smell..
Reply:Well, the only way to get eye-popping whiteness is to go seek professional treatment, but there are toothpastes which will give you a near result. Try Pearl Drops, or Maclean's White and Shine, or Crest Whitestrips. Check out your drugstore for heaps of whitening product varieties.
Reply:well it really depends. My mom gave me too much fluoride when i was little so mine are premanently stained but over time and a lot of brushing has made a little improvement.
Reply:buy hydrogen peroxide solution from the chemist - it will only cost a couple of dollars and gargle each day - it will make your teeth white

I was tempted to 'paint' some on once -- but came to my senses.
Reply:I would not recommend it.
Reply:No, hell no. You'd have to pay more money to go to the ER afterward. The over-the-counter white strips in stores really are effective and relatively cheap. Don't gargle bleach.
Reply:you shouldn't do it unless you want to make yourself sick.
Reply:NO! It'll kill you. But you can whiten your teeth by putting some peroxide on your tooth brush after brushing and brush it into your teeth and gums. It also kills bacteria. I do it. Never had a problem.

Where is the best place to purchase a professional quality teeth whitening kit from on the Internet?

I'm looking for a teeth whitening kit that utilizes lab-created bleaching trays and 22% carbamide peroxide gel. I would like for the price to be around $100 if possible. It is also important that it be a reputable online dealer and not some "fly-by-night" reseller. I'm hoping someone, on Yahoo Answers, that has already had a good experience purchasing/using a teeth whitening system from the Internet will point me in the right direction.

Where is the best place to purchase a professional quality teeth whitening kit from on the Internet?
There is a reason why they are available from dentists only. If you misuse the product, your teeth will turn a grayish blue color-- permanently! I use Supersmile, and it's very effective. I use it, and it worked so well, I got some for my mom who had very discolored teeth.

Do you really need "in office" bleach to get your teeth super white?

Just use the whitning strips, the "in office" bleach costs WAY to much.

Take two ppl who have brushed %26amp; flossed daily all their lives %26amp; eaten %26amp; drank the same food. One's teeth will be whiter than the other's anyway,so it doesn't matter.Use the store bought crap!
Reply:pshh i dont know

but i just use crest white strips but they kill your gums
Reply:not really, it depends on the enamel that is already on your teeth, if you smoke or drink coffee also stains teeth. There is whitning toothpaste you can use.
Reply:It can b done at home but care has to b taken otherwise the teeth become too sensitive due to over-whitening which affects the enamel and makes the teeth appear grey instead of white. Try at-home crest white strips. follow the instructions carefully. Stick to the # of times ur supposed to apply...DONT OVER-DO IT.
Reply:white strips and trays strip away your enamel which actually hurts your teeth a lot try using baking soda just put a little in your hand wet your tooth brush and dip it in the baking soda then just brush like you woould with toothpaste (except for the nasty taste)

How long does it take bleach to whiten your teeth? ( like days or just hours or weeks)?

Don't throw away your money on crest white strips or dental bleach treatments. All you need is a regular bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide to get the same results. Start by flossing very well, then brush with hydrogen peroxide for a few minutes. Follow that by brushing with regular toothpaste. When I did this i noticed a difference in 3 days. In fact, my teeth got a little too white. Crest white strips have a slightly higher concentration than the regular hydrogen peroxide in a bottle. Don't spend 30-40 dollars for white strips, or hundreds for dental treatments when you can get the same results with a 3 dollar bottle of hydrogen peroxide.

How long does it take bleach to whiten your teeth? ( like days or just hours or weeks)?
if you use crest whitestrip(they are cheap and effective) it will take a couple of weeks you will first notice a difference in a week...if you what a quicker bleach make an appointment with your hygeinist, she can give you bleaching tray to bring home that might cost a little more money but are more effective in whitening your teeth faster...the fastest in zoom whitening$600, so its pricey but in an hour or two you have dramatic results, whiter and brighter teeth, and only have to wait about an hour...
Reply:If you use Crest strips, the ones they have take 7, 10, or 14 days, you wear 2 sets for 30 mins a day. They have one that takes 5 mins a day and it gradually whitens. Rembrant ones varies. Some until the syringe is gone or strips in 5 or 7 days. The ones from dentist (laser, trays, strips) vary. Good luck!

How do you use the bleach tp whiten your teeth(do you just put it on there or do you gargle with it or what?

Actual chlorine bleach (like what you would use for your clothes) is not used to whiten your teeth. Whitening (often called bleaching) teeth is achieved with a product like crest whitestrips. Other methods for "whitening" can include wearing a custom tray (like a sports mouth guard specially made to fit) in your mouth with a gel in it or a generic tray with gel in it. A commonly used whitening gel is carbamide peroxide and has been used for many years now in the dental field. Hope that helps!

How do you use the bleach tp whiten your teeth(do you just put it on there or do you gargle with it or what?
Check the instructions on the bottle
Reply:you just brush your teeth regularly with the bleach tp...and your teeth get whiter in time, another great method is crest whitestrips i see patients that come in my office that use it and i notice a difference of whiter teeth when they use it:)
Reply:You may be thinking of the newer rinses that you swish and expectorate. They are suppose to brighten with out the use of solutions or gels, I'm not that familiar with them to be honest, and have not heard any good (nor any bad) responses about them.

Now the bleaching gel is different from the "rinse." The bleaching gel gets placed in a custom tray that has been fabricated from impressions taken of your teeth. The tray holds the solution against the facial or front portion of the teeth for the amount of time recommended for the whitening process to be achieved, which is usually 30 minutes to an hour. After that time the solution has lost it's effectiveness and can be removed, rinsed, and placed on your models or in a box for use again.

Hope I've been of some help and good luck with your bleaching, you will love your whiter brighter smile!

What's the difference between bleach and laser on teeth whitening?

I'm just wondering which does the best job. Cost doesn't matter, I need to know which is faster also. thanks

What's the difference between bleach and laser on teeth whitening?
Recents studies show that:

1. "In-surgery bleaching that require only one visit are to be viewed with scepticism. Patients who had only one session had a higher relapse that those that had 2-3 sessions. Approximately half of the patients with 2-3 in-surgery sessions requested additional home bleaching to improve the result."

2. "It is possible that dehydration of the teeth could be a contributor to the whitening seen in one-visit procedures." In other words, one-visit treatment looks better initially because it dries out the teeth temporarily, but that the teeth rehydrate and change back much of the change.

So, go for the home bleaching - it will take longer, but give better results.
Reply:i best bleach is the chemical and the laser is using bright light to whiten?
Reply:Laser whitening or in-office whitening will do the trick far better and quicker. In-office whitening is usually done in one appt of one hours time. Whereas whitening trays you have made in office and wear home at night, you must wear for one hour each night for about 10 days. See what I'm saying! Both results will be pretty much the same. In-office runs about $600 in canada, and home bleaching runs roughly $300. I know you said price didnt matter just thought I would throw that in! Good luck, and happy whitening!!!
Reply:the home bleaching will take longer to do, but its better if your teeth can suffer from sensitivity as the bleach is not as strong , you will get the same results as laser but it will just take a little longer to achieve and its actually cheaper the home bleaching,

laser whitening can be really sensitive , my teeth went hyper senstive after for a day or so and i know my colleagues have had the same problem,

my opinion is the bleach is better then the laser, and costs less and reduces ure chance of any discomfort , easy winner in my opinion and u can stop when ure happy with the result where as the laser will bleach to a shade u have no control over

good luck

Bleaching trays.......?

i got bleach and special bleaching trays made from the dentist...it cost about 300 dollars...but everyone knows teeth stain fast....i was curious...im out of the bleach so i was wondering if making a paste out of baking soda and peroxide and putting it in the tray and leaving that in for about 1 hour...once in a while would be ok?....would it kinda be the same as bleach....just to keep stains off my teeth....

Bleaching trays.......?
It's not actually bleach, more likely a percentage of carbomide peroxide. The true peroxide will irritate your gums, so I wouldn't. Brushing w/ baking soda should be fine as long as the gel you used to whiten didn't make your gums sensitive. Just look at the empty tubes or boxes the dentist gave you. You can buy virtually all of it on line for much less than the dentist charges. Plus, if you went through the whole whitening regime of a couple of weeks, your teeth are not going to stain THAT quickly. Sometimes your dentist will even give you a free touch up or maintenance kit that you use every 3-6 months for a few days to maintain your new white smile after the original whitening. In the meantime- no coffee, tea, colas, wine except through a straw placed behind your front teeth. I do that all of the time anyway. It's great you are whitening your teeth. It's the first thing I notice about anyone and it makes SUCH a difference.
Reply:no honey...... the story is not like this and not as simple as like u r describeing......

don't play in ur mouth and let the one who knows more about ur mouth work in it { the dentist}.......
Reply:Your dentist should have bleach refills. I know the bleach refills at my office are only $25.00 for 4 syringes. You should call your dentist and find out how much it costs. Because making your own paste isn't going to work.

Teeth Whitener?

Anyone know of a good bleaching kit or remedy that whitens teeth fast and safely? Thanks.

Teeth Whitener?
Crest white strips work for your front teeth the supreme version is the best it has like 12% peroxide where the premium only has like 3%. They can make your teeth sensitive though. Strips are kind of like painting a fence however they dont get in between the teeth. So the best option is the trays.
Reply:crest whitening strips! they work fab. and are perfectly safe. and it saves you alot of money of going to the dentist
Reply:Bleach kits are nasty. A safe quick way i use is aqufresh whitening trays or crest white strips. They are cheaper as well.
Reply:Smile in the tanning bed, works great and kills two birds with one stone.
Reply:cigarettes. good cheap and effective. Not to mention cool factor.

you're not a minor are you? otherwise you might have to steal them.

Reply:Crest but only the premium nothing else works! So we all have to live with yellow teeth!
Reply:Here is a natural remedy without any harmful chemicals: Lemons. Buy six lemons and slice it like you would an orange. Bite into one and hold it in your mouth like your doing an orange smile. Remember doing those as a kid? Keep it in your mouth as long as you can stand it. Do this for a few days and your teeth will be much much whiter. It's natural and inexpensive!!
Reply:I'd try GOSmile if I were you. They sell it at Sephora, sephora.com, or gosmile.com. It's a brush ampuole that is just wiped on the teeth to whiten them in a week to one month, depending on the current shade of your teeth. Give it a try, the people in the before and after pictures have super bright teeth after they used it.
Reply:Hydrogen peroxide is probably the most common and popular natural lightening agent. Apple cider vinegar can also be used for teeth whitening. More remedies and information regarding your teeth at http://useinfo-dentalcare.blogspot.com/

Teeth whitening DIY?

Has anyone used any household products to whiten their teeth like peroxide or household bleach? If so what did you use and did it work? All those whitening toothpastes don't work and I don't want to go to a dentist and pay a fortune to whiten my teeth.

Teeth whitening DIY?
I've tried brushing with salt every now and then and see some results, although it's not as fast as many products but at least its safe. There are also so many options for at home teeth whitening. http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com/art... has some options you can try. Hopefully the ones you chose is the one that'll work on your teeth and gums without any harmful side effects.
Reply:No but i am looking for an answer also. I asked my dentist the other day about whitening and it is not that much $160 for upper and 140for lower. Also he did say that Crest white strips are his recomeded item. I will follow the post though. Good question!!
Reply:try the whitening mouth wash while also using the strips, the combo seems to work good, but if you want movie star white, you have to go to the dentist, Sorry

Can i use foil on my teeth as a home made tooth tray?

i want to put my whitening gel in the foil and wrap it around my teeth is this ok also would it whiten teeth fast since when u bleach hair and put foil on it , it bleaches faster does this work the same for teeth?

Can i use foil on my teeth as a home made tooth tray?
Please don't use foil on your teeth!

First of all, it's abrasive, and it can damage your teeth. Second, aluminum is reactive. It may react chemically with the whitening gel, and create compounds that could REALLY harm your teeth, or could even be poisonous.

And third, have you ever had aluminum foil come into contact with fillings in your teeth? OUCH.
Reply:I heard foil was bad for your teeth.
Reply:Go see a dentist, or buy the real stuff.

Do you have any idea how much it will cost you to fix your mouth when you screw it up?

Will the chemical you use to whiten your teeth remove the metal on the foil and deposit it onto your teeth? Will your gums explode?

Bad idea....
Reply:no it does not work the same for teeth. cuz hair is made up of a totally different material compared to teeth. using foil on ur teeth would make your teeth bleaches even more vigorously and eventually your teeth will become very thin and rot.
Reply:Sure. Great idea, genius.
Reply:foil is made of aluminum which is not good for your body to absorb, and mixing it with a whitening gel - well there could be some problems, although I am not a scientist to be able to tell you the outcome. There are gel molds that you can get at the store that can be used for teeth whitening. This is your one set of real teeth, take care of them and invest in something that will be safer than foil!

How can I whitten my teeth naturally without having the dentist bleach them?

How can I whitten my teeth naturally without having the dentist bleach them?
brush with baking soda.
Reply:You can brush with baking soda, and even put a little peroxide in there.
Reply:Congrats on kicking the habit! That will make a huge difference (positive, of course) in your health.

My dad is a dentist and doesn't think in-office bleaching treatments are any better than Crest Whitestrips. As long as you follow the directions properly, you'll see whitening effects over time.

The baking soda idea is good, too.
Reply:Baking soda, whitening toothpaste, crest thin-strips, whitening listerine. There's so much stuff you can try these days that are safe for your enamel. You may want to go to the dentist just for a regular routine cleaning, that will help get rid of some of the gunk left over.
Reply:I've tried several over the counter teeth whitening products, and I've had a lot of success with them as long as I follow the directions and keep doing them everyday. Make sure your brushing your teeth 2-3 times a day with a whitening toothpaste. It's gonna take a couple weeks, so don't give up if you don't see dramatic improvement in the first couple days.
Reply:Brush with H2SO4.
Reply:I'm not sure if it works or not, but I received an email about the wonders of peroxide and here is the ex cert about whittning.

1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe.) No more canker sores, and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash.

Another natural way is to brush with plain baking soda.
Reply:You can use whitening toothpaste and also try peroxide the reg. little brown bottle just hold it in your mouth just like mouth wash! or try a mixture of baking soda powder and peroxide and brush your teeth with it =)
Reply:Try peroxide. You can either brush your teeth with it or let it sit in your mouth for a few minutes. Just don't swallow it. It is actually the main ingredient in Crest Whitestrips. Wish I would have known that before I bought the box!
Reply:Congrats on quitting! Whitening your teeth will make you feel better as well - smiling again and being proud of your smile rather than hiding tobacco stains makes a huge difference in how we present ourselves to the world.

It takes time, but you can use the Crest whitestrips, use whitening toothpaste or, if you can handle the taste, use baking soda as toothpaste. I personally can't do that one - it tastes horrible to me (although it might work as a great diet aide, but that's another subject).

I started with whitestrips, then moved on to whitening toothpaste. Just be aware that your teeth may get sensitive, so have a non-whitening toothpaste to trade off with every few days.

Good luck!
Reply:the Crest White Strips work wonders. After a while of using them, my teeth get sensitive

Poor woman seeks advice on teeth whitening ?

I have been to my dentist today and have been advised to use

pola night teeth whitening to whiten my teeth

as this treatment is very, very effective, they

told me pola night would make me look like

a model, however...

Does anyone know how I can whiten my teeth without

using this dental bleach as I am on income support and

can not afford this treatment from them as they

told me to buy this pola night teeth whitening

will set me back £290, I would love to try this

polanight teeth whitening product but can not afford it

from my dentist.

Does anyone have an answer: How I can whiten

my teeth at home without paying out any money ??

Please help me, as I need some teeth whitening

as I have very bad teeth stains as I have been

eating too many take aways, ( curry and piza most nights etc..),

plus my 60 aday cigs and my 5 bottles of red wine wine that I get from m%26amp;s.

does make my teeth look rather yellow.

Please do offer me some advice on how

my teeth can look white again without buying these

products as I am on very low income support, not to mention that I have

6 children to feed etc and this does not come cheap !

Its about time they did MY teeth whitening FREE on the NHS !

Thanks from Kelly

P.S - I cant wait to hear from you all, with your tips, advice and answers

FIRST QUIT SMOKING AND QUIT DRINKING. AND THEN TRY BAKEING SODA. FORM A PASTE WITH IT AND THEN BRUSH.
Reply:Never use a wire brush on your teeth or anywhere near your mouth, and you must not use ajax. use a firm toothbrush and the baking soda, but not too long the baking soda will remove layers form your teeth and that is not always good. Report It

Reply:Crest Whitening strips, available in grocery stores. Also, at home remidies can include mashed up strawberries, you can also brush like normal, dip your toothbrush into hydrogen peroxide and brush again, or I have heard that Baking Soda can whiten also, but I dont know how.
Reply:smile :)
Reply:Give up the 3 packs a day and 5 bottles a day habits and you'll have the money for your whitening and your 6 kids will eat better to.
Reply:Baking soda and water.
Reply:The least expensive way to naturally whiten your teeth is baking soda. Of course it's not yummy, but it works. Just keep a small box in your bathroom, and dip your wet toothbrush in some baking soda and brush with it twice a day. Don't substitute for toothpaste. You'll notice a difference, even though it won't be as drastic and fast as expensive treatments. Let me know how it works for you! My sister showed me!
Reply:OK here is how i keep my teeth white. i brush each morning with aqua fresh toothpaste, several times a day i repeat this process, then just before i go to bed i give my teeth a final brush with bicarbonate of soda, the taste is not very pleasant but the results are good. give it a go, it only cost 45p a tub of bi-carbonated soda.
Reply:No dentist that I know of in the UK would recommend such a product for teeth whitening. Either you are a foreigner posting on UK and Ireland aswers or you are not telling the truth.

UK dentists will offer you two types of whitening - neither of which is self-administered.

The NHS is obliged to make sure your mouth is healthy - not that you look good.

If you want to look good then here is the harsh truth:

Don't smoke

don't drink red wine

limit tea and coffee

brush with a whitening toothpaste at least twice a day

floss twice a day

use a fluoride mouthwash

P.S. Ajax are a Spanish football team
Reply:if your on low income support you shouldnt be having cigarettes and wine and pizza. give up that stuff and you might have the money for whitening your teeth. tooth wightening is a cosmetic thing...it doesnt benefit you in anyway.

How could you take legal action against your dentist? Tooth whitening isnt a necessary procedure and it isnt paid for in most places. Here in Canada was pay for our own unless you have insurance to cover it. Yellow teeth doesnt harm you. It just doesnt look nice so no dentist will pay for your teeth whitening so you can feel better. I get really tired of people trying to get everything for free these days. Do what I do and work for the things you want. If you cant afford them then too bad.
Reply:Ajax is a household scouring powder and poisonous! There is a great whitening product for about £5 available at supermarkets or chemist called bright white. The inside of a lemon skin is also a very effective tooth whitener.

Have you considered spending your income support on something other than 60 fags or takeaways and wine?? Like maybe a tooth whitening treatment.
Reply:Please be careful. Baking soda is fine, but don't overdo it - once a day for a week would be fine, but no more than once a week thereafter. It can damage your teeth.

Bleach or hydrogen peroxide can be VERY DANGEROUS! In the best case scenario, you will only lose your teeth - in the worst, go to emergency with severe burns!!! Dont' experiment with these!!!

Baking soda or over-the-counter home teth whitening products are the only two at home options.
Reply:first off if you dont give up the cigs, and alcohol then you will always be re-whitening your teeth! second giving up on those 2 bad habits will also help you and your children live a lot better. as for actual whitening......i agree with the first answer. i personally used and still use from time to time crest whitestrips...they take 7 days per top and 7 more per bottom to whiten. my teeth are near blinding white against my tan body, i couldnt be happier! the product is quite cheap and very simple to use. another option you have is taking peroxide and baking soda and putting them together and making a paste and placing it on your top or bottom row. not both at the same time! applying to both front and back of your teeth and leaving it on for about 30-45 minutes for quick results within about 1-1/2 weeks, best done at night. Or 10-20 minutes for 2-4 weeks improvement....just really depends on how much you can tolerate the paste in your mouth. To remove it simply brush your teeth with water and a whitening toothpaste of some kind. i rec'd colgate whitening, or aquafresh whitening with floruide. all very cheap and all house hold items. make sure you stay away from caffeine, coffee, smoking, drinking, and always brush your teeth about 1 hour after this procedure. Good Luck and i hope that you have a beautiful white smile in no time.

Oh and just a quick tip....smoking causes cancer, drinking causes liver disease-think about your 6 children!
Reply:brush with baking soda rinse with water then swish with peroxide for about two minutes . repeat weekly this will make your pearls white in a few weeks i have never heard of or had a problem with peroxide that guy who said you may lose your teeth does not know what he is talking about they make tooth paste with peroxide .
Reply:You could use baking soda if your on income support as this may help get your teeth cleaner ?.

I feel very sad for you having 6 kids on a low budget and not been able to afford this treatment, you should tell your dentist that you are in urgent need of this treatment as you feel very very depressed, You might get a discount on this pola night teeth whitening stuff ? who knows ?? he may do it for FREE !

I too have children and I know what its like to be a mum and you do deserve a nice white smile after looking after 6 kids, I feel very sorry for you on such a low income, You should also ask for more money in benefits as it seems that you must not be getting enough, try asking your local benefits office again and tell them that this treatment should be available to you on the nhs as you have 6 kids to feed plus yourself.. I hope you get this sorted out, in the meantime try some baking soda this should only cost you about 35p. ( or you could ask your local doctor for some free soda?? its worth at try.........)
Reply:Try using spray paint.
Reply:you could get the cheat stuff
Reply:don,t do it..this dentist is just trying to make some money out of you..stop smoking that will help..bleaching will make your teeth very sensitive as well.and very white teeth looks completely unnatural..and no it should not be free on the NHS..do you know how much the stuff costs?....why should tax payers pay for your vanity
Reply:if you want i have the bleaching kit from the same people that do extreme makeover usa ill post u a syringe and tray u mould to youre teeth and instructions this should last a week or so and you then can decide if u want to by ur own i get it from a dental company on ebay for £9.99 a box of four ill send it you free so u can decide. id have liked someone to do this for me its great by the way

Do whitening strips weaken your teeth?

Some people have told me that whitening strips or bleach trays weaken your teeth. They also make your teeth burn? HELP! Thank you SO much to all who answer, I am forever grateful! God bless you all!

Do whitening strips weaken your teeth?
Sensitivity comes from the drying of the enamel during the bleaching process. This can be lessened by using fluoride treatments or bleaching with a higher concentration for a shorter amount of time. You can get a fluoride gel OTC (over-the-counter) at most pharmacies or your dentist. You can brush it on your teeth, or you can put it in bleaching trays or any boil and bite tray for that matter. If you have any questions, you can contact your dentist to make sure you follow their recommendations and to make sure that they approve of you doing this.

Whitening strips and bleach trays are safe for use, but like anything else, using them improperly can cause damage. It's best to follow your dentists recommendations.

Hope this helps. Good luck to you.
Reply:Yup your gums and the interior of the teeths.
Reply:I have used them, and my teeth have became sensitive while using them, but once I stopped, there was no difference than before. I think if they damaged our teeth they wouldn't be on the market, or so popular.
Reply:I think they do harm teeth respective to the quality of treatment used.......whitening or bleaching have direct effect on protective layer of teeth ...thus weakening them and looking dull after few days requiring regular maintenance.....but its my personal view ..nothing about reality ...thanx

Are redheads more likely to have yellow(ish) teeth?

I have red hair and my teeth have always been slightly yellow. Bleaching helps a little but they never seem to whiten as much as they should. I pay attention to teeth and it seems like more readheads have this problem than blondes or brunettes. Is it just my imagination?

Are redheads more likely to have yellow(ish) teeth?
I have red hair and my teeth are white.
Reply:Nothing to do with your hair color-try Tom's of Maine toothpaste-whitening formula. In 6 weeks you will be shocked!
Reply:KATHY,

HAVE YOUR FRIENDS OR FAMILY TOLD YOU THIS? IT'S NORMAL TO HAVE THE TEETH WITH A SLIGHT YELLOWISH SHADE, ESPECIALLY WHERE THE CANINE TEETH ARE NEAR THE GUMS.THE ENAMEL IN THIS ZONE IS THINNEST AND THE UNDERLYING DENTIN HAPPENS TO BE YELLOWISH.
Reply:No!!! The color of your hair can bring "out" the yellow undertone color which everyone in the world has! Try on a wig of blonde or brunette and you'll see what I mean. Try having a professional cleaning(or a bleaching) done. The "OTC" teeth whiteners work better to maintain professionally bleached teeth than they do actually whitening them at home. Good luck. Also, if your a female, try wearing "red" lipstick. Try out a few different shades till you get one that works for you. It will help!
Reply:I'm a redhead too... and the color of teeth is a genetic thing as well as environmental. Teeth can be more or less porous, and retain stains. There's also the fact that our fair skin doesn't give as much contrast to the color of teeth as brunettes.

Blondes have the same problem as we redheads, I've thought.

Drinking colas, teas, and coffee as well as eating some kinds of staining foods will darken teeth too.

I asked my dentist about whitening my teeth, and he said it's only temporary.
Reply:The color of your hair has nothing to do with the color of your teeth or maybe it could make it a little more visible if you have long hair (due to the color contrast) but other than that no. You should know that our teeth are not made to be all very white, especially the canines; they have a natural light discoloration.

How to whiten teeth w/out using Crest strips? Those sting!?

I have very sensitive teeth and thin enamel, so those bleaching strips almost eat away what coating I have left, but I want to safely whiten my teeth. Any ideas? I've never seen a major different with basic whitening toothpaste. Is there a trick?

How to whiten teeth w/out using Crest strips? Those sting!?
I brush my teeth with regular toothpaste. Then, I take my toothbrush, poor some hydrogen peroxide on it and brush my teeth with that- it will sting a little bit and it will get very foamy- not like the pain from the crest strips though- just more stinging around the gums but it goes away after a couple of minutes. Then rinse your mouth with water. I do this everyday and people always ask how I keep my teeth so white.
Reply:just brush yor teeth twice a day, and stay away from coffee.
Reply:i was told by a dentist to use a whiting toothpaste with bleaching trays. It is just as effective but not so harsh! good luck!
Reply:All I use is whitening toothpaste and although I smoke and drink coffee, my dentist commented on how white my teeth were on my last visit a month or so ago

There also used to be a whitening chewing gum, but I don't know if it's still available.

Talk to your dentist about options, since your teeth are so sentisive. S/he might be able to suggest something that won't be as pricey as professional whitening.
Reply:The strips kill my teeth as well. I've had very good results using Crest Vivid White tooth paste. Its expensive for toothpaste, (around $5-$6 a tube) but the last time I went to the dentist she asked if I had my teeth whitened...so it does work!
Reply:Use whiting gel.
Reply:they now have a power jell you use it twice a day for a couple weeks that works very well. Its called puls white
Reply:You can buy a whitening gel for like 3 or 4 bucks and leave it on for 15 min and it does not cost as much as whitestrips. People tell me my teeth look whiter.
Reply:I would visit a cosmetic dentist for a consultation. I have really sensitive teeth too...the strips and those Rembrandt trays made my teeth ache and my gums were irritated. However, the BriteSmile treatment was definitely doable because it was a one time thing and the dentist was very aware of my problem. It's supposed to last 2+ years too. The pastes really didn't do that much for me. Even the more expensive stuff like Pearl Drops or Rembrandt. I would definitely talk to a dentist about it...the treatments are pretty affordable now...or maybe he/she can give you some suggestions.

Do wearing teeth bleachers make your teeth weak?

Do wearing teeth bleachers make your teeth weak?
I'm 17 and I wanted to get Crest Whitestrips, but my mom heard from my dentist that such teeth bleachers weaken your teeth, at least for my age group.

I'd stop using them if I were you.

What is the main ingredient in teeth whitener and/or bleach?

Abbrasives! Beware, these so called whiteners will typically destroy the enamel coating on your teeth, exposing them to infections and eventaully your teeth will rot.

When you brush with these abbrasives it is similar to brushing with sand, you are litteraly grinding the surface of your teeth off!

What is the main ingredient in teeth whitener and/or bleach?
Hydrogen peroxide
Reply:Profession strenght whiteners purchased from your dentist contain carbomide peroxide as the active ingredient.

What is best teeth laser whitened or bleached? thx?

Go with the home bleaching: it is much less expensive, easy to maintain and gives you the same end result of whiter teeth.

Teeth paint/ brush on bleach?

have not heard of any thing like that. Tooth brush %26amp; bleach is ok. Why do you need them for?

Hiya,tooth whitening,laser or bleach,?,,,,,,,,thanks?

Ive dedided to take the plunge and get my teeth whitened,i think it will give me more confidence when i talk to my customers.

question is ,i dont know the best whitening system.

Would you reccomend tooth bleaching or laser treatment?

Hiya,tooth whitening,laser or bleach,?,,,,,,,,thanks?
Take-home trays will give you good results, it just takes 10 to 14 days to get the desired effect. With the ZOOM! system, your teeth are whitened in-office in about an hour. The cost is about double the take-home kit cost. Plus you have to find the time to wear them and be consistant until you get the desired effect.

If you can afford it, I would say do the in office treatment.

Some patients experience mild sensitivity following the procedure but fluoride will soothe it. And no it will not make your teeth fall out.
Reply:both will make your teeth fall off by the time you're 50.
Reply:ask yourself this.

do you want to look like sherif John Brunelle from worlds wildest police videos?
Reply:bleaching is by far better and less painfull..
Reply:At my dental practice we do both to maximise the effect. We give you bleaching trays to take home two weeks before you come into the surgery to have ZOOM laser whitening, we then send you home and ask you to continue with the trays for a further two weeks then if you need any crowns/veneers/filling replaced due to the colour change we do them at that stage. The trays and Zoom are the same price so if you choose to have one or the other it costs exactly the same as having both done at the same time.
Reply:Speak to your practicioner as not all systems of whitening are appropriate for everyone. The current state of your teeth (Including microscopic fractures) and gums are important factors when deciding, as is cost. Most expensive is not necessarily the right course of treatment for you.

Any after effects of teeth whitening?

I'm getting my teeth whitened (professionally, not bleached...not sure what it would be called outer then that lol). Has anyone had this done? What where your side effects if any? And was it a big difference? I have a concert the next day and I'm worried about being able to sing/scream lol, Thanks!

Any after effects of teeth whitening?
O u'll be just fine. I never done it for me but I've done it for most of my patients and they seemed to be just fine. A slight temp sensitivity for a couple of days is pretty much expected but its usually not that bad. For best result though, use a straw for coffee and red wines. It sound weird but coffee and red wines stain ur teeth very easily. Enjoy ur white teeth^_^

Reply:Yes it makes your teeth very very sensitive for a couple of days. So sensitive that if you breath through your mouth at any time you can feel it on your teeth...You'll be able to scream though.

Reply:my boyfriend got it done and complained about hyper sensitivity and sudden painful jolts. But this only lasted for about 24 hrs. nonetheless he said had he to do over he would not have done it. FYI ever heard people say to never get anything Major done to your appearance before a wedding. That really goes for any important event in ones life. Next time consider giving yourself a bit more time between a procedure and when you are going to be performing or in the spotlight.

How do I get my teeth whiter without getting them bleached?

My teeth have never been "shiny white." I brush my teeth 2 times a day for 3-4 minutes, but it does nothing! Help!!!

How do I get my teeth whiter without getting them bleached?
Here's the deal: brushing your teeth, brushes dirt off of them. If you want to "exfoliate them, add some baking soda to your toothpaste. If you want to whiten your teeth, add peroxide to the mix. You can buy a food grade 35% hydrogen peroxide bleach from the health food store...use just a couple of drops! use it a couple of times a week, you will see a difference!
Reply:Try Rembradnt whitening toothpaste. That stuff really works. Use it for a month. You won't believe your eyes.

Reply:Try Crest White Stripes .. or their tooth paste for whiter teeth I love it :D
Reply:My dentist told me that the Crest Whitestrips are the next best thing to having your teeth professionally whitened.

Reply:Chew on some chalk.
Reply:It's not healthy to have "shiny white" teeth. Brush them with baking soda and salt.
Reply:maybe you should a whiting tooth paste. I have the same problem, I thought about bleaching mines.
Reply:try Crest white strips or the white light.. ive heard those work.

generally though, it is best if you see your dentist he will be able to give you an educated opinion.
Reply:whitestrips
Reply:Use whitening toothpaste.
Reply:Nothing but the bleach available from your dentist will do anything to change the shade of your teeth. Go to your dentist and ask for Zoom Bleach.

Crest Whitestrips and all over-the-counter bleaches are far too dilute to do anything. Zoom bleach is six times more powerful. And forget whitening toothpastes. They don't even contain bleach. Their ingredients don't whiten at all.
Reply:You could try using a mixture of baking soda with your regular toothpaste, but there are toothpaste that already have that in them. You might just have naturally darker enamel. I know my enamel is darker because my mother took a medication when she was pregnant with me. I've had to have my teeth capped, crowned and replaced due to my poor enamel and the discoloration.
Reply:I have no idea but I don't see why profesional whitening won't work.
Reply:Drink strawberry Chou's
Reply:Twice a week I brush with Hydrogen peroxide. I quit smoking, and my teeth were bad. That seemed to help a bunch. Just don't swallow it yo!
Reply:Give a couple of guys some blowjobs. From what I've heard, that can make stuff white. Or drink a lot of milk. But don't brush, or you'll brush the white stuff off.
Reply:I used white crest strips 3 years ago and people still come up to me and say that my teeth are white. My secret was that I had just taken my braces off. The ortho gave me a retainer. At night I would sleep with white crest strips on my teeth and placed my retainer over them to hold them down. The next morning I just take them off and brush. It's probably not the safest thing to do, but that's what I did. Just don't wear the strips right after you brush because IT BURNS. Good luck.
Reply:DEFINITLY A SECRET BUT REALLY WORKS BAKING SODA BUT NOT SALT SALT IS AN ABRASIVE AND WILL SCRATCH THE ENAMEL OF YOUR TEETH SMILE BRITE
Reply:white paint is usually quite good And!!! wait for it......................................... doubles as a meal ,start saving those pennys!
Reply:cut up a strawberry into really small pieces and place the slices over your teeth. trust me! and also, drink cranberry juice! it prevents cavities.
Reply:Baking Soda will help....Dont use it too often though because it can scratch the enamal.
Reply:What's with the craze of wanting to have white teeth? Human teeth ARE NOT naturally white, but they are IVORY.

It is one more of the subliminal messages the media and our society has sent us that unless you are a certain way, you're not a worthwhile human being.
Reply:The only way to get them whiter is by bleaching them. Using baking soda or salt is probably a bad idea long term. They are both abrasives and wear away at your enamel. All toothpastes already contain mild abrasives and abrasives will only remove surface stains anyways.

The whitening tooth pastes and strips are basically dilute versions of in office dental bleaching treatments. Never had any experience with those so I don't have an opinion of them.

Your success with bleaching will be highly dependent on your teeth and the reason for their discolouration. Some teeth bleach quite well others will hardly notice a difference. Once bleached, teeth will slowly regress to their previous shade. Some people also notice that their teeth become sensitive during bleaching. This sensitivity usually goes away after you stop bleaching.

What is the best way to have clean teeth?
the question really isn't on how long do i brush but how good do you brush. I have pretty good teeth and i like to start on the back of my bottom teeth. scrub them really good for like 30 seconds the the top on the back for 30 seconds. after that rish the top teeth were the gum line is for 30 seconds really good then the same for the bottom teeth then rinse and spit. next floss between every tooth to get extra crud out and then your done. and don't forget to do this after breakfast and dinner before your go to bed

Reply:My Dentist gave me a sonic tooth brush, and now he says he

doen't have to clean my teeth but once a year. It is really

good as it has 3 speeds, and one to massage the gums.

Also you can use baking soda it does a great job of cleaning stains from the teeth.
Reply:brushing should last 3-4minutes use a up and down motion and do it slow to get evry part of your mouth. brush everyday
Reply:1. Brush at least twice a day. But for really clean teeth, brush after every meal and avoid between meal snacks. Also avoid sweets. If you do have sweets, brush your teeth!

2. Floss! If you can't brush at all (you're camping and forgot your toothbrush), floss or use toothpicks. Before toothbrushes were invented, pre-historic man used to break off twigs and pick their teeth. They didn't have candy back then, so they didn't get cavities.

3. Brush for at least 2 minutes. Hum a song if you must. But brush gently because you don't want to hurt your gums or cause the gums to recede and expose your tooth root.

4. Avoid stuff that would stain your teeth like coffee, dark cola like Pepsi, cigarette smoking, chewing tobacco, etc.

5. Visit your dentist at least twice a year. Regular maintenance goes a long way.
Reply:WELL THE BEST WAY TO HAVE CLEAN TEETH IS TO BRUSH THEM AND NOT TO EAT ANYTHING THAT WILL REALLY RUIN YOUR TEETH
Reply:To have the finest teeth in the world please do the following: Choose a fluoride toothpaste. The fluoride kills the bacteria in your mouth that causes tooth decay. Use a floss and put some toothpaste on it to help get it between the teeth. Brush at least three times a day.

Do not eat sweets or drink a lot of soda.
Reply:Just brush every day, morning, midday, and night. Any other time you feel "the fur" on your teeth, brush. It helps me to brush long enough if I leave my bathroom and walk around for a while, while I brush. Use mouthwash too. Use whatever technique fits you--if you are trying to find one, you will. Go to the dentist and get your teeth cleaned every six months. That's important. A flouride treatment helps while you are young, to have nice strong teeth while you learn to take care of them.
Reply:In Air Force dental assisting school, we were taught that you only need a good mouthwash, toothbrush %26amp; water, and floss. The only good toothbrush is one with SOFT, round bristles. Gargle your mouthwash, spit. Take your toothbrush and brush at a 45 degree angle to your teeth. This helps to clean your gums as well. Cover every part of every tooth, as some people only clean the fronts. Don't brush too hard, because that wears down your enamel, and the yellow dentin below starts to show through. Check your teeth in the mirror for anything left behind. Then, floss gently on both sides on each tooth. Gargle some water, and spit!
Reply:CONSISTENCY!

Brushing, Flossing, Maintainence.

Consistency over time.

By the way tooth paste does not have fluoride to kii bacteria.

Fluoride is added to make the enamel in your teeth chemically more resistant to decay. Ant-bacterial action, while it exists, is minimal.

Reply:I'm not too sure abt it. However, there are many ways to whiten your teeth.

Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth!

For home remedies.

Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month.

Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening.

Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth.

Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains.

If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here's something for you!

Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night

Is it safe to use household bleach to whiten teeth?

Um...no. I've heard of others doing this %26amp; they don't have any gums around their teeth now.

Is it safe to use household bleach to whiten teeth?
nope!
Reply:NO! NO! NO!
Reply:Worth a shot
Reply:if you want them to look nice at your funeral. Household bleach is poison....don't use it in your mouth.
Reply:No, because household bleach will dissolve the enamel of your teeth. The bleach product used to whiten teeth contains chemicals that replace the discoloration of your teeth, instead of destroying the entie enamel.
Reply:Household bleach can be poisonous and kill you but if you want to put that junk in your mouth...
Reply:Are you kidding me???
Reply:ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Reply:Just go buy some crest white strips, you won't die, and you'll have white teeth
Reply:nope, just use a product called "pearl drops" (or another whitening tootpolish or toothpaste) you can get it from your local store. If your not sure ask your dentist!
Reply:I don't think you'll have any problem with that. Who needs teeth anyway. For that matter, why live? - Tell me how it works out for you, dumba*s
Reply:Do you want to meet your mortician soon? Then go ahead and put household bleach in your mouth.
Reply:The whitening kits at stores use hydrogen peroxide, not bleach. Bleach will make you really sick or kill you. Its much safer and more effective to buy a kit or use Listerine
Reply:WOW.

Think about it this way, a very small amount of bleach can instantly kill most small creatures on contact. You are thinking about putting this stuff in your mouth, where diffusion of dissolved substances can occur very, very rapidly. Even if you water it down, you will basically be putting pure bleach into your body. If you don't die quickly, then I am sure that you will wish that you had.
Reply:Nope of course not. Household bleach is not what they use to make toothpaste or whitening strips and is poisoness. It can easily kill you or if not kill you then damage your organs.

Didnt your momma ever put Mr.Yuck stickers on things like that? Learn no lessons did ya???

If you need a better whitener and do not want to buy them or go to the dentist you can make your own toothpaste...here are several sites that give you directions on making it youself. Peroxide is a whitener that if not swallowed is safe.

How often is it safe to bleach one's teeth? I use 7 day whitestrips, over-the-counter.?

They are fine. My only suggestion would be to keep them away from your gums. If you get those strips up over your gums, too, that bleach in the strips will take the skin right off of them. That hurts reallllllly bad. They'll heal, but you will have very swollen, bleeding gums for days. Just make sure the strips don't touch them--on the teeth, only.

What will happen if i put bleach on my teeth to whiten them?

Assuming you use the bleach made for teeth whitening, it may irritate your gums a little, but other than that it will probably just whiten your teeth.

If you have any really white decalcified spots on your teeth, they will get whiter too, cause stains to show up more, though.

Do not use household bleach in your mouth, you will burn yourself, it will be painful, and you will have to go to ER.

What will happen if i put bleach on my teeth to whiten them?
You'll poison yourself. Professionally made products are formulated with the proper amount of chemicals, something you have no control over if you try it yourself. Don't do it. You may wind up in the hospital with permanent damage..
Reply:If by "bleach", you mean regular household bleach, the answer is you'll get sick and will cause some serious chemical burns to your gums. In addition, it could cause damage to your tooth enamel. Don't to it!
Reply:You will die with nice white teeth.
Reply:yeah, you will poison yourself, and i think that bleach may strip off the enamel and hurt your teeth.
Reply:that's dumb, it would eat the inamul off your teeth and you will be more likely to get cavities and your teeth will get more dirty later.
Reply:carry on doin it ... and after a few days u waont have left any to clean up ... it will be invisible.

LOL
Reply:It should blister the mouth. Try rinsing with peroxide. I Have used it since I was a kid ,it and baking soda to brush with.
Reply:you know they make strips, right?

What should I do when my teeth are extra sensitive?

I whitened my teeth with an at-home bleaching kit from the dentist's office and my teeth only felt slightly sensitive while doing it. Then afterwards the pain got progressively worse until it was pretty excruciating, and now its better, but still a nagging pain and sensitivity. This has been going on for HOURS now! I have been using a special sensitivity toothpaste with flouride when I brush, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I also tried tylenol and vicodin which didn't help the pain either. Does anyone know any products or remedies or ANYTHING to help get rid of or prevent tooth sensitivity? I'm supposed to use that whitening kit at least a few times to get desired results, but now I'm dreading ever doing it again after the pain. Is there anything else I can do to combat the sensitivity? Thanks.

What should I do when my teeth are extra sensitive?
Sensodyne-F Revitalizing contains fluoride which not only prevents cavities, but also helps strengthen and remineralize tooth enamel.

There are several other immediate relief products out on the market. One of them is Orajel, which can numb the area for temporary pain relief. Also, I once tried a product that came with swabs to desensitize your teeth with and it's supposed to keep the pain away for at least a month after only one use. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it was called...but it did work. If you go to the store, you'll probably find other stuff like that around the oral care section.
Reply:Sensodyne toothpaste works great for sensitive teeth. But it costs $5-6 a tube.
Reply:I have got sensitive teeth right now and also use sensodyne, it can take a few hours to work but you could rub it directly on to your teeth and make a 'rinse' with it by mixing paste and water. Sensodyne works better the more you use it. Perhaps whitening just needs to be for shorter sessions?
Reply:You can buy special Fluoride tooth paste from your dentist that is better than anything you can buy in the store. My dentist suggest this. And this time when I used the strips it didn't hurt at all, but you can not eat, drink or rinse your mouth for 30 minutes.

Is it bad to use bleach on your teeth to whiten them ?

i was just wondering before i try it

Is it bad to use bleach on your teeth to whiten them ?
Just normal household bleach? YEAH!

The special teeth whitening bleach is fine, as long as you don't overuse it, it will weaken your teeth if you do.
Reply:yes they weaken the enamel
Reply:i hope your don't mean like, clorox bleach... cause obviously, that's poison.
Reply:You should NEVER use household bleach on your teeth. It is not safe. If you want to whiten them go to your dentist to have an in-office bleaching or you could go the cheaper way and use over-the-counter whitening strips. Be sure to follow the directions. Whitening products contain a different chemical makeup and the "bleach" that they use is safe for the mouth and if swallowed. Also, try to avoid beverages and food that stain your teeth. If you are a tobacco users do not use while whitening your teeth, it will interrupt the results.
Reply:the whitening agent to lighten your teeth on most "bleaching" agents is carbamide peroxide and not bleach.

If you rinse with chlorox you will have MAJOR GASTRIC PROBLEMS and have burns.

Another "whitening" agent would be something that is slightly abrasive such as the prophy paste the hygienist uses to clean mild stains on your teeth. This is a super fine powder mixed with flouride.

What would laundry bleach do to teeth?

errr....

What would laundry bleach do to teeth?
GOOD GRIEF! DON'T DO IT! IT'S WAY TOO STRONG AND POISONOUS!
Reply:Damage tooth enamel ...ouch!
Reply:Nothing except possible kill the nerves of your tooth, causing the need for a root canal and possibly eating off some of the enamel b/c it is very acidic. It would probably burn the crap out of your gums and possibly make you sick.
Reply:Burn your gums....Try peroxide for tooth whitening. It's safe.
Reply:Bleach for oral use is especially designed for teeth, laundry bleach is not. Ingesting bleach is toxic and bleach can burn the gums, throat and mouth. It would be very unwise to every place a toxic substance such as bleach in you mouth.
Reply:Burning away enamel and your whole mouth.

Also, if a drop is swallowed, you could be in serious trouble.
Reply:Use baking soda

Can I rub household bleach on my teeth to whiten them?

No but you can use hydrogen peroxide, the stuff that comes in a brown bottle in the pharmacy or grocery store. It's a type of bleach too but it is much safer to use. You can also mix it with baking soda and brush your teeth with it. In addition to whitening, it kills germs so you can use it as a mouth wash or gargle. You still don't want to swallow it but it isn't toxic the way laundry bleach is.
