Does anyone else use regular household bleach and baking soda to whiten their teeth?

I know that common 2% peroxide is common and safe but for better results (whiter teeth) is regular bleach unsafe if you're carful not to swallow it and you have no open cuts or sores on your gums?

Does anyone else use regular household bleach and baking soda to whiten their teeth?
There is such a thing as too white of teeth, to where it looks fake!

No I don't,

and BTW Nice pictures!
Reply:Baking soda yes. But bleach? I have no idea. I can't imagine the taste of bleach on my mouth though. =(
Reply:Bleach is very dangerous on your skin so I don't think it would be any safer in your mouth, open sores or not. It can and will be absorbed..... (((( DON'T DO IT ))))
Reply:common bleach is NEVER a good idea to use. It is toxic, can cause cancer, and blister the heck out of your mouth. Stick with peroxide or better yet, get that paint on kind ( I forgot it's name) from the store. My exgirlfriend was a model and that was what she used.

By the way, WOW!
Reply:DONT USE BLEACH!

Its a fact that it takes the enamel off your teeth.

This then weakens your teeth, making you more at risk of having teeth problems later on in your life!

Also, thinning of the teeth makes your teeth erode quickly!!!

By 60 years old you most likely wouldn't have any teeth
Reply:you can not use bleach. it is actually so strong, if you swallowed it, it can kill the aids virus, but it would kill you first. it would not be worth the risk even if you are careful not to swallow it. it can also cause problems to your enamel. i am a dental hygienist and would recommend crest whitestrips if you want to go the inexpensive route. zoom bleaching is great but expensive.
Reply:Bleach is POISON. Go to a dentist for a cleaning then ask your dentist how to whiten your teeth better.
Reply:I have been using regular beach for about 10 yrs,,It really works, especially if you smoke..I do it once a week,,you right just don't saollow it,,and don't brush to hard...

I brush with just Bleach %26amp; let it set about 10 seconds, rinse, then brush with toothpaste real good...

Teeth-Whitening Kits?

What are the negative repercussions to using these at-home teeth-whitening (bleaching) kits, if any?

Teeth-Whitening Kits?
You can try these home remedies. Lemon juice, baking soda or baking powder can also be used for teeth whitening. Rubbing the bark of walnut tree brightens the teeth. Strawberries are natural teeth whiteners, simply rub them directly on your teeth or mash into a paste and apply.More remedies and information regarding your teeth at http://useinfo-dentalcare.blogspot.com/
Reply:Use dettol.
Reply:Crest spoilage and gum decay
Reply:The only things I know of are these and I've used Crest White Strips:

1.) If you use them every single day for about a year, your teeth will get a blue tint. Just don't use them like this and you won't have a problem.

2.) You will get a slight shock every once in a while to your gums. It doesn't hurt, it's just a bit startling.
Reply:The crest whiteneing made my gums very tender, and i found that the product just made me salivate and it filled my mouth. Didn't work for me at all. just got a sore mouth.
Reply:I've used the tray kits, never the white strips, and the only thing is that they leave your teeth pretty sensetive. I would personally just save up enough money to get them done at the dentist professionally.
Reply:well i used crest whitening strips and they worked really well, they just made my teeth sensitive towards the end of the certain amount of days it said to use them for. but my teeth did get really white so it was so worth it!! oh and now that im done my teeth are back to normal, like they are no longer sensitive
Reply:Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries but certain precautions have to be taken. I found the information at http://www.aches.in/toothwhitening.html

Natural Ways to Whiten teeth?

Is there a way to whiten teeth without bleaching them, buying strips, etc. When i was little i've ate many choclatey things so now my teeth are kind of stained. I;ve tried baking soda but im not sure if its working. Tips?

Natural Ways to Whiten teeth?
Baking soda works after a while. I use Listerin Whitening mouth wash. It's not natural... you could try eating lemons, but just a warning, that takes the enamel off your teeth and makes them slightly sensitive to cold liquids and sometimes cold air.

Reply:Try drinking more water. By doing that, the water will remove a lot of the germs. Also, make sure to brush your teeth for 2 minutes. You're supposed to do that regularly. Good luck.

Does bleaching remove very mild dental fluorosis?

I have minor dental fluorosis on the edges on my 4 front teeth. Will bleaching remove this? Or whitning treatments. It definately isnt a serve case, many of my friends have it as well. Which method is most affective?

Does bleaching remove very mild dental fluorosis?
Bleaching will not remove any kind of dental fluorosis, i recomend leaving it alone if it is not batherring you, the alternative is having a direct or indirect veneer put on your tooth.

Whiten Teeth At The Dentist?

I wanna whiten my teet at THE DENTIST,

I%26#039;ve heard that they are unable to whiten the teeth if you should happen to have any cavities.

I have two cavities, and would like to whiten the teeth AT THE DENTIST.

Is there any other tooth whitening/bleaching than the crest strips?

I prefer having it done, about how much $?

Whiten Teeth At The Dentist?
Have you gone for a consultation at a dentist?

You can get whitened if you have cavitites... just that if the filling is on your front teeth (or any very visible surface) it wont bleach like your natural enamal.
Reply:It%26#039;s not that you CAN%26#039;T whiten teeth with cavities, but the whitening gels can make teeth sensitive, especially if you have cavities. Also, most dentists would consider fixing your cavities much more important than whitening your teeth, so they would definitely want to do that first. As far as cost, it can vary a lot...but where I work it is about $200 - $400. Crest white strips are a good over the counter whitener, but they are not as strong as in-office whiteners, and they aren%26#039;t custom made for you so you won%26#039;t get as good of results. For what it%26#039;s worth, I would get the cavities taken care of first.
Reply:The dentist will cost at least $300.

Maxodent is the best alternative to Crest whitestrips which slip off etc.

But check out this article about Crest whitestrips.

Reply:cavities or fillings are no prob, you should do the whitening at a dentists anyway so she will be able to tell you if you need other procedures also.

ask for the price before the treatment.any good dentist will give you that after she´s checked your teeth.
Reply:I had mine done at the dentist office for 250.00 dollars. The dentist will make you a set of trays for your teeth and then give you whitening gel to take home.Your teeth will be snow white in two weeks.I also have cavities and still use it.It will be worth every penny
Reply:Well the price is dropping...to about $350 or so. However, you must have those cavities fixed prior to getting a whitening procedure done.
