Whiten Teeth At The Dentist?

I wanna whiten my teet at THE DENTIST,

I%26#039;ve heard that they are unable to whiten the teeth if you should happen to have any cavities.

I have two cavities, and would like to whiten the teeth AT THE DENTIST.

Is there any other tooth whitening/bleaching than the crest strips?

I prefer having it done, about how much $?

Whiten Teeth At The Dentist?
Have you gone for a consultation at a dentist?

You can get whitened if you have cavitites... just that if the filling is on your front teeth (or any very visible surface) it wont bleach like your natural enamal.
Reply:It%26#039;s not that you CAN%26#039;T whiten teeth with cavities, but the whitening gels can make teeth sensitive, especially if you have cavities. Also, most dentists would consider fixing your cavities much more important than whitening your teeth, so they would definitely want to do that first. As far as cost, it can vary a lot...but where I work it is about $200 - $400. Crest white strips are a good over the counter whitener, but they are not as strong as in-office whiteners, and they aren%26#039;t custom made for you so you won%26#039;t get as good of results. For what it%26#039;s worth, I would get the cavities taken care of first.
Reply:The dentist will cost at least $300.

Maxodent is the best alternative to Crest whitestrips which slip off etc.

But check out this article about Crest whitestrips.

http://ezinearticles.com/?The-7-Differen...
Reply:cavities or fillings are no prob, you should do the whitening at a dentists anyway so she will be able to tell you if you need other procedures also.

ask for the price before the treatment.any good dentist will give you that after she´s checked your teeth.
Reply:I had mine done at the dentist office for 250.00 dollars. The dentist will make you a set of trays for your teeth and then give you whitening gel to take home.Your teeth will be snow white in two weeks.I also have cavities and still use it.It will be worth every penny
Reply:Well the price is dropping...to about $350 or so. However, you must have those cavities fixed prior to getting a whitening procedure done.

Reply:why can%26#039;t you use crest strips? using a product like that or zoom whitening is the only way to whiten them Sorry!
Reply:baking soda
Reply:here are 2 ways pretty much the same but 1 difference:

-wet toothbrush with water and dip in baking soda;brush teeth

-wet tooth brush with PEROXIDE dip in baking soda;brush teeth (if anything burns cuz of the peroxide, it is cleaning any cuts in your mouth)

hope this helps you!! =)
Reply:I%26#039;ve heard of baking soda(main one), peroxide(but don%26#039;t swallow! and it tastes bad) and even strawberries(but I don%26#039;t really believe this one).
Reply:I recently read that all teeth whitening products are various strengths of hydrogen peroxide, which would mean that you probably won%26#039;t get much faster results from one product to another.

Also, you might talk to a dentist about the natural color of your teeth. Some people don%26#039;t have perfectly white teeth by nature and no amount of bleaching will change that (as far as I know...question for a dentist). I noticed this in college because I have very dark hair and very white teeth, whereas my roommate was a redhead and her teeth were never pearly-white, even though she had very good dental hygiene.

Now that I%26#039;m older, I use whiteners on occassion and I usually see results in a day or too. SO, again, check with a dentist about the results you are getting.

Internal bleaching of a tooth after root canal.?

Did anyone receive internal bleaching of a tooth after root canal? Im getting one on my front tooth and want to find the best procedure to hide a darkened tooth. Did internal bleaching give a satisfactory colour, or is another method (veneer etc.) necessary. I don%26#039;t trust cosmetic websites that promise miracles. Thanks.

Internal bleaching of a tooth after root canal.?
You can have it internally bleached to prevent discoloration. However, a crown is normally recommended for root canaled teeth b/c they become brittle b/c they are dead after the root canal and many times will break off years later b/c they are so brittle. The worry about this is when root canaled teeth break they often break down the root and then have to be removed. All that money becomes wasted. Do yourself a favor and get the crown right after the root canal.
Reply:I had to have a root canal in my front tooth years ago and it worked very well and I like it better than the veneer.

It will continue to discolor as the years go on so you need to have it done again a few years later which your regular dentist can do. Not really a problem but it will cost a bit to get it done again and it%26#039;s a two step process like it was the first time, something I hope to do later this year.

Whats the best way to get Hollywood White Teeth, without the Hollywood price. I currently bleach...?

Hi,

I currently bleach my teeth which has helped remove stains and go from a natural sort of yellow/cream colour to a a sort of cream/off white. I however want them to be alot whiter and brighter. How can i do this without paying the dentist for whitening treatment or having veneers etc? I have had GOSmile whitening done before and that was ok for a bit...but i need it whiter! lol

Thanks in advance

Whats the best way to get Hollywood White Teeth, without the Hollywood price. I currently bleach...?
It%26#039;s important to limit home bleaching as you can take it to the point where your teeth will become hyper-sensitive. Professional bleaching is much stronger, and of course, the risk of increased sensitivity is greater, but the results are generally better than home whitening kits.

Unfortunately, your teeth may have reached their maximum %26quot;whiteness%26quot; via bleaching treatments. I would suggest seeing a good cosmetic dentist to discuss your options for additional whitening. He will also be able to discuss with you your options for treatment other than bleaching. As you know, the costs for dental cosmetic procedures is astronomical, so it%26#039;s really about what%26#039;s important to you.

I know you realize that %26quot;Hollywood White%26quot; teeth aren%26#039;t real-- they%26#039;re ultra-white because they%26#039;re either veneers or crowns. The fact is that almost *no one* has teeth that are naturally that brilliant, and honestly--- even though we all want white teeth, the %26quot;Hollywood Smiles%26quot; look as fake as the celebrities who sport them. I don%26#039;t know about you, but I wouldn%26#039;t want people asking me if my teeth are %26quot;real%26quot;!

On the plus side, if you%26#039;re determined to have a super white smile, there are many financing options tailored just for those requiring cosmetic dentistry. Your dentist will be able to direct you to a good one.

Best of Luck!
Reply:i sometimes use peroxide as a mouthwash...dont drink it of course. its supposed to whiten teeth..not super white though. be careful doing this too much because the acid in the peroxide can breakdown the enamel on the teeth if its overused.
Reply:try crest whitestrips, i had a friend who used them and it worked amazingly! But you could also have it done by a professional - ask your dentist about zoom - it takes about an hour and i don%26#039;t believe it costs too much. hope this helped :)

What does it mean to bleach your teeth?

The other day i was at the dentist and overheard the lady at the front desk talking with somebody saying how when they got home they were going to bleach their teeth. WHat do they mean by that? Do they actually use bleach?

if so i would like to know how to too... =D

What does it mean to bleach your teeth?
Actual chlorine bleach (like what you would use for your clothes) is not used to whiten your teeth. The front desk staff was probably referring to whitening (often called bleaching) her teeth with a product like crest whitestrips. Other methods for %26quot;whitening%26quot; can include wearing a custom tray (like a sports mouth guard specially made to fit) in your mouth with a gel in it or a generic tray with gel in it. A commonly used whitening gel is carbamide peroxide and has been used for many years now in the dental field. Hope that helps!

JAMRDH - a dental hygienist
Reply:No you use a product like crest white strips to whiten aka bleach your teeth.
Reply:It is not bleach, that is just the term used. It is a whitener that you can guy from the dentist. This is not the same as the junk you buy in the grocery store to whiten teeth. The dentist will make a mold of your teeth and then you squirt this whitener in the try and sleep with the tray on your teeth all night. You do this for several nights and your teeth will be much whiter and much brighter. It works.
Reply:THIS IS A PROCEDURE TO MAKE YOUR TEETH SUPER WHITE. IN OTHER WORDS IN A DARK ROOM YOUR TEETH WILL SHOW UP AND THE REST OF YOU WONT.
Reply:HELLO DUDE,

BY BLEACHING THEIR TEETH AT HOME WHAT THEY MEANT WAS THAT THEY WERE GOING TO WHITEN THEM WITH THE KIT SUPPLIED BY THE DENTIST.

NEVER USE HOUSEHOLD BLEACH FOR THIS BECAUSE IT IS A POISON AND WILL KILL EVERYTHING IT TOUCHES.
Reply:its this like kit that you buy, and it has like little trays that you dip in hot water and mold it to your teeth size, then you put drops of this special gel. i dont thinbk its really bleach, but just ask the dentist whch kind you can get.

and you can bleach you teeth by making a paste w/ baking soda, and brushing them

hope that helps!

Another way to bleach capped teeth?

I have two caps on my two front teeth. I really need to get them bleached but don%26#039;t want to spend the money (well, can%26#039;t spend it right now) on having a dentist do it. Crest White Strips, etc., all say that I can%26#039;t use it on caps, that they need to be replaced. Anyone know of another alternative? I doubt there is one, but I was just curious, thanks!

Another way to bleach capped teeth?
There is no way to whiten existing caps without simply replacing them. Whitening products could theoretically even damage the finish on your existing caps.

It%26#039;s POSSIBLE (although unlikely) that your caps have some accumulated stain on them - so there%26#039;s some chance that a polish by your dental professional may lighten them somewhat.

Sorry that there%26#039;s no easy remedy to your problem... =-
Reply:|Nope...they have to be replaced. Nothing will bleach fake enamel

on teeth, because the color is IN the substance they use. So get ready to replace the caps...thats the only way to do it..
Reply:Sorry but you have to replace your crowns in order to get the shade change you want. Only your natural tooth will lighten.

How do u bleach your teeth?

my teeth are not what u call white. i was wondering how do u bleach ur teeth. so if u can help thanks

=D

How do u bleach your teeth?
This must be done by a dentist who has bleaching machine.

the procedure is very simple. the dentist will rub a special kind of gel all over your teeth and treat them with a special light coming out of bleaching machine. the whole thing takes about 15 minutes. after this is done, your teeth will remain white for a couple of years. good luck.
Reply:a bit of bicarb and water... and swish it around.

its what they put in some whiteners

good luck
Reply:Hydrogen peroxide is probably the most common and popular natural lightening agent. Apple cider vinegar can also be used for teeth whitening. More remedies and information regarding your teeth at http://useinfo-dentalcare.blogspot.com/

Can you bleach your teeth with the dentist trays when pregnant.?

My wife is 5 months pregnant and wants to bleach her teeth overnight with the dentist trays. Is that safe?????????????

Can you bleach your teeth with the dentist trays when pregnant.?
I%26#039;m breastfeeding and was advised not to use whitening strips when I posed the question to my doctor. Some argue that there is not enough evidence to confirm that it can cause harm during pregnancy or breastfeeding, BUT there is equally, no evidence to prove that it is safe.

Is waiting 5 more months really such a big deal that she%26#039;d be willing to compromise her baby%26#039;s health for the rest of his/her life... I don%26#039;t think so. She loves her baby. Why take the risk before it%26#039;s proven to be safe? She should wait 5 months until she delivers her child. It%26#039;s not that critical :o)
Reply:You%26#039;ll have a very white baby.
Reply:They don%26#039;t advise it because there has not been enough research to prove whether it is safe or not. I wouldn%26#039;t do it, just to be on the safe side.
Reply:Teeth whitening is not recommended in pregnant or lactating women. I would suggest contacting the American Dental Association for more information at publicinfo@ada.org. I%26#039;ve found them to be very helpful with these kinds of questions.

Reply:I Think They Bleach All, Or It Depends On What You want and the Price.

My teeth are yellow and my new fillings are white. Can I bleach my teeth to match my fillings?

When I went to the dentist he put in white fillings to cover the dark brown ugly decay that showed in the front of my mouth when I spoke or smiled. Now I%26#039;m noticing a two-tone color on each tooth. The bottom of my teeth are white (where the dentist filled the decay) and the top of the teeth are my natural color ....quite yellow. The white part of the filling does looks nice - but you see the filling line. Is it possible for me to bleach my natural teeth to match the fillings? Has anyone tried BriteSmiles? Has anyone had this happen? Can this be done? Please help. Thanks!

My teeth are yellow and my new fillings are white. Can I bleach my teeth to match my fillings?
Professional teeth whitening refers to a technique where a whitener is applied to your teeth by your dentist in their dental office. In contrast, at-home teeth whitening is a process where the dental patient takes the bleaching materials home with them and performs their bleaching treatments on their own, unsupervised.

At-home teeth bleaching typically requires that the product user performs whitening treatments each day, over a series of weeks. In comparison, the number of professional teeth bleaching treatments that are performed is typically much fewer in number, possibly even as few as one. It has been suggested that, as a ballpark estimate, one hour of in-office whitening treatment can produce the same whitening effect as one to two weeks of at-home tray-based whitening.

The teeth whitening system that is best for you can depend on factors such as: the amount of time you have available, your temperament, and how much money you have to spend.

Some advantages and disadvantages of at-home teeth whitening:

The dental patient must be capable of performing and complying with the whitening system%26#039;s technique and instructions.

The person must have the time and inclination to perform the whitening treatments.

It can take some weeks or even months before the final results are seen with at-home systems.

At-home teeth whitening products usually cost less than professional teeth bleaching treatments.

Some advantages and disadvantages of professional teeth whitening:

The whitening effect is seen immediately.

The whitening is accomplished in just a few appointments (possibly even just one).

Professional teeth whitening usually costs more than at-home teeth whitening products.

Professional teeth whitening: The procedure.

A) The dentist will evaluate the patient%26#039;s pre-whitening treatment tooth shade.

B) The dentist will isolate those teeth being whitened.

C) Eye protection and a bib covering are placed on the patient.

D) The dentist applies the peroxide whitening gel onto the surface of the teeth.

E) Optional: The dentist exposes the tooth whitener to an %26quot;activating%26quot; light or laser.

F) The tooth whitener is left on the teeth for a prescribed period of time.

G) The whitening treatment is terminated.

H) The dentist will determine the post bleaching shade of the teeth.

I) Optional: The dentist performs a fluoride treatment.

J) Optional: An at-home teeth whitening system is sent home with the patient.

How much can the professional teeth whitening treatments provided by a dentist cost?

Here is a ballpark cost range for what a dentist might charge for a single professional teeth whitening treatment. In some cases more than one treatment might be needed.

$600 to $2000

Try to pick the best dentist, not the best whitening system.
Reply:You need a professional bleaching to match them
Reply:Yes you can! You have various options..BriteSmiles or Zoom are in-office bleaching.(Done in a dental office for an hour).

Bleaching with trays that was done for you by your Dentist.(Done at home). Or the best over the counter bleaching is Crest Strips....All of these method should work for you.Obviously, the fastest, strongest concentration, most effective are the first two choices, But if money is of concern, I would definitely try on the latter. Good luck whichever method you choose. It should work......

Follow the directions and you will be fine. Just check with the dentist how long you should do this. I did mine and they turned out great. Every six months or so I refresh mine. Very happy with the results.

Can You Bleach Your Teeth Using Real Bleach?

I saw on TV the other day where this lady gargled bleach to get rid of bad breath and i was wondering...could you use it to whiten your teeth?

Can You Bleach Your Teeth Using Real Bleach?
Only once.
Reply:Wanna poison yourself and sizzle the enamel on your teeth?
Reply:not the best of ideas.. toothpaste works wonders for me
Reply:Uhhh, NO WAY, not if you want to continue living, anyhow.
Reply:Only if you want to be dead or burn your mouth and throat out. Bleach is TOXIC. It shouldn%26#039;t even be in your house as the fumes are toxic.
Reply:Bleaching your teeth is very dangerous. If you use to much of it you can actually die. The Bleach can go through your blood streams....getting there by your gums...and that can cause death.
Reply:No.
Reply:Bleach is posion. So no you couldn%26#039;t.
Reply:did you see that in a movie? cause if so its fake! you can%26#039;t use REAL bleach to bleach your teeth it can harm your body!
Reply:Ignorance is a 2 letter word..........No
Reply:No...it would eat away at your gums and strip your teeth of the top layer of enamel. Need more reasons ? It%26#039;ll taste gross and it%26#039;s poisonous. Stick to the Crest White Strips or go to the dentist and try BriteSmile laser whitening.
Reply:Please, no. I mean no. Chlorine bleach that you buy for laundry, cleaning....is not designed for human consumption. Really. It has no nutrition label or recommended daily allowance. You will probably find more convincing evidence by contacting your poison control center. I suggest you call them prior to swishing your mouth with bleach. Otherwise, they may send an ambulance and hall you away.
Reply:keep the bleach out of your mouth unless you want to die
Reply:A product which is essentially bleach is used when doing root canals, because it will destroy everything living inside the tooth. The trick to the root canal is making sure not to get any of the material out past the tooth or drip any on your gums. If you gargled with it...I can%26#039;t even imagine what it would look like.
Reply:Don%26#039;t believe everything you see on TV, and don%26#039;t put pure bleach in your mouth. However, when I was little my mom used to clean my teeth with hydrogen peroxide on a Qtip, so maybe you could do that. Don%26#039;t swallow it though. And it tastes pretty gross.
Reply:%26quot;bleaching%26quot; your teeth refers to a whitening process, it%26#039;s not real bleach. It%26#039;s a special solution for teeth. You should not use anything for your mouth/teeth except actual dental products.

Crest white strips are very effective at whitening teeth. Available at Target, grocery stores, etc.
Reply:he%26#039;s right about the lady on TV doing this for bad breath. It was on Tyra. Bad idea. Anything that goes in the mouth gets absorbed by the body.
Reply:I did it once, and never do it again. I didn%26#039;t die from it, and it didn%26#039;t do anything to my teeth either.
Reply:Bleach is like an acid and could seriously burn you and kill you it something that you should not do at all. If you want whiter teeth they have many products out there for that from toothpastes to mouthwashes and even strips and gels which are all safe. As far as what you saw on TV I can guarantee that she didn%26#039;t really gargle bleach because when you gargle you end up swallowing some of the liquid and if anyone swallows it they would not have long to live which mean she%26#039;d probably be dead it says right on the bottle that it%26#039;s poisonous. So in short I%26#039;d say no don%26#039;t do it because you could seriously injure or kill yourself
Reply:NO NO NO NO NO NO
Reply:call poison control or just stick with the strips man
Reply:if your teeth are that yellow..you should go see the dentist.

everything you see on t.v most of the time is not true..is acting..she maybe had water not bleach.
Reply:Are you serious? Do you want to kill your self?
Reply:Not safe
Reply:BLEACH (SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE -HOUSEHOLD BLEACH) = VERY GOOD FOR THE TOILET.

VERY BAD FOR THE MOUTH UNLESS USED FOR ROOT CANALS BY THE DENTIST.

DON%26#039;T BELIEVE T.V. SENSATIONALISM.
Reply:THAT%26#039;S A REALLY BAD IDEA!!!
Reply:O my gosh I wouldnt even think about it. If your looking for a cheap solution try crest whitestrips they%26#039;re about 30 bucks at the pharmacy and if you use as directed at the end of two weeks you should be pleased.
Reply:no it will kill you! use tooth past or whitning strips, or ask your dentist! GOOD LUCK!

Anyone bleach thier teeth using an at-home kit??

My brother wants to bleach his teeth at home (they arent really even discolored!) but I heard that if you use a bleach kit at home that it turns your gums white%26#039;ish too!?! My brother doesnt believe me..so has anyone done it before??? If so, what kind?

Thanks

Anyone bleach thier teeth using an at-home kit??
I have tried white strips by crest and they work great. I have also used plus white that was good too, but do keep the product away from your gums because they will leave white spots and your gums will sting a bit, but the stinging and white spots do go away.
Reply:I%26#039;ve used Crest White Strips Premium. They didn%26#039;t bleach my gums.
Reply:You should not drink, gargle or lick bleach, house hold chemicals or anything else. They are extremily toxic and may kill.

If you suspect that someone has swallowed house hold chemicals, call 911.
Reply:Yeah, it turns your gums white, but with the whitener I had, it only lasted about 10 minutes. I bought mine at Dollar General and it was called Dental White. Not the kind has a brush.
Reply:I have done it, and it didn%26#039;t turn my gums white. Follow the instructions, but I think using the method all the time, makes minute holes in your enamel and therefore you find you must use it more and more often to get your teeth as white as they initially were.

Kinda habit-forming if not careful. Use only once in a great while...Wedding. Baptism...Funeral...Special date...Other...
Reply:i dont remember what kind i used. one of those crest things. it hurt my gums and turned them red and white. but the pain and white/redness was gone by morning. it was one of those %26quot;leave on for 10 minutes, take off for 10 minutes%26quot;. it was a hour long process.

Does bleached teeth look fake?

do you think people with extremely white teeth look somewhat fake?

Does bleached teeth look fake?
Yes, you can totally tell who has had their teeth bleached. I mean, look at Regis when he was doing %26quot;Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?%26quot;.. the light caught his teeth that they were ready to blind you.

I mean, there are benefits to bleaching teeth such as getting all those years of grime off of them and having a very pretty/handsome overall look, but teeth when they first come in aren%26#039;t THAT white.. they look unnatural - there are ways to whiten teeth and make them look natural at the same time.
Reply:no they look nice and clean!
Reply:OMG, yes...one more set of blue white teeth smiling at me across my desk and I%26#039;m gonna lose it.
Reply:no they dont look fake but just real white sometime you can tell bleached teeth cause the are so white
Reply:Yes they look fake, specially people w/ fake tan.

Teeth - care?

Is bleaching teeth harmful to teeth or gums? Does it make a difference if it is done by a dentist instead of the kits in the drugstore?

Teeth - care?
Bleaching can be sensitive for teeth, but not harmful.

Bleaching can irritate gums, that is why it is advised not to put the product on them, or remove any remaining bleaching product from your gums.

Some bleaching kids bought at drugstores are very good, but the most efficient tooth whitening technique remains at th dentist.
Reply:I really suggest you do some serious research. Ask your dentist and if you aren%26#039;t satisfied, go and ask several dentists. Then, do your own research and compare the results. Dental care is vitally important.
Reply:brush them
Reply:Your dentist is going to try to sell you his service. I%26#039;ve been a dental assistant for several years can tell you more people complain of tooth sensitivity having your teeth whitened by a dentist. They use higher consentrated bleaching agents used in a shorter amount of time. Its better for you to use the %26quot;at home%26quot; store brands in my opinion. Store brands work just as well, but take a little longer for results. This is much cheaper and is better for the teeth.
Reply:Bleaching your teeth is not hazardous unless you do it too much. If you over bleach you can start stripping the enamel from the teeth.

The store purchased products work just as well as going to a dentist, but you need to have patience.
Reply:Plenty of good advice here.

Will whitening trays damage teeth after continuous use?

Most people bleach their teeth once every six months, but would bleaching teeth more than that cause damage?

Will whitening trays damage teeth after continuous use?
DAMAGE TO TEETH= UNLIKELY

DAMAGE TO GUMS IF THE BLEACHING GEL GETS ON THE GUMS = A POSSIBILITY

WILL THIS BE PERMANENT DAMAGE? = NO, JUST IRRITATED.

WHAT WILL DO TO THE TEETH THEMSELVES?

MAKE THEM MORE SENSITIVE TO COLD.

DOING A TOUCH-UP WHITENING IS A NICE IDEA EVERY 6 MONTHS TO KEEP A SMILE LOOKING GREAT.

Will teeth whitener bleach a rubber doll?

i have an old rubber doll (i think rubber...hard rubber....her face is soft and i can smoosh it though) i want to make pale, she is a good peach color right now. im scared clorox would be too strong and just turn my doll white...so will tooth whitener....lots of it and a combination of lots of sun bleach her enough to be pale and not white?? is there anything else that does the job better and faster?

thanks.

Will teeth whitener bleach a rubber doll?
NO!!! If it is an old rubber doll (they haven%26#039;t used rubber in dollmaking since the 50%26#039;s) please don%26#039;t experiment with it! Rubber dolls deteriorate and there are too few of them left in good condition!

If you mean vinyl, you can bleach it by using Oxy 10 and putting it in the sun. This will also remove ink, eyebrows and lips. It must be completely washed off when done or it will continue to lighten.

Don%26#039;t use nail poish remover!!!! It will melt!

But please be sure your doll isn%26#039;t valuable before you do anything!

When they are talking about bleaching your teeth, they use a different kind of bleach. Many times it is a hydrogen peroxide blend or something (not an expert on this). Your best bet to whiten teeth is purchasing Crest White strips...they are awesome and work very well. I use them once a year, and my teeth are white (and I drink a lot of coffee!). Also, I highly recommend Aqua Fresh%26#039;s Extreme Clean toothpaste for daily use. If your budget is tight, you can mix hydrogen peroxide with baking soda as a %26quot;toothpaste%26quot;. While this doesn%26#039;t taste very well, it works great!

Just on a historical note, the monarchs of the 15th and 16th centuries used to have teeth bleaching sessions with their dentists. It worked well for a while and their teeth were sparkling white, but as they aged, the damage done to the enamel of their teeth by the chlorine caused their teeth to rot away. The result was excrutiatingly painful and relentless in their later years.

The solution is placed on the mouth guard, which as a rule is included in the kit, and subsequently follow the instructions in the kit. The gel ..

my teeth are fairly white but one tooth has a bit of a stain on it, anyway to whiten this tooth out specifically without bleaching?

Any way to take care of specific tooth stains without bleaching?
Brushing with baking soda at night then rinse with hydrogen peroxide in the morning it helps remove stains. It can cause teeth to be sesitive if you do it to often.
Reply:I just bought a toothbrush called REACH Clean %26amp; Whiten. It has a little scrubber on the back that it says you rub on teeth stains to buff them off. I don%26#039;t know if it works yet because I%26#039;ve only had it for a couple days. Good luck!

I live in new jersey how much would it cost to get your teeth bleached by a pro?

on average. thanks

I live in new jersey how much would it cost to get your teeth bleached by a pro?
I would say $200 to $350. This would be for the custom tray method. If you do the in-office laser whitening, much much more. It%26#039;s faster (just an hour, and no more fussing) BUT you%26#039;re taking up valuable chairtime, so they charge like 5 or 6 hundred.

I charge (in New England, which is probably close in cost to NJ) $175 per arch...so if yyou only want to do the uppers you can save a few bucks. so it%26#039;d be 350 if you do both.

You might find a place that%26#039;s $300 for both.

if that seems expensive, try the Crest strips first...if they work, great, if they don%26#039;t you%26#039;r eonly out $30 or so. They won%26#039;t be as dramatic, but you might be happy w/ the results.
Reply:SINCE THERE ARE WIDE PRICE SWINGS BETWEEN NORTH AND SOUTH JERSEY, AND BETWEEN INDIVIDUAL DENTISTS, YOU NEED TO CALL DENTISTS IN YOUR AREA TO SEE WHAT THEIR PRICES ACTUALLY ARE. IN THAT WAY, YOU CAN BETTER DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO TRY OVER -THE-COUNTER PRODUCTS, OR IF YOU CAN AFFORD THE PROCEDURE DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL.
Reply:I think you should try a natural remedy first and if that doesn%26#039;t work then do the bleaching

try brushing with baking soda twice a day after your regular brushing and make sure you brush for a full two minutes i have a built in timer on my tooth brush so i know when two minutes is up very convenient. also you can make a paste with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. its safe and it whitens your teeth good luck oh and also try to drink juices sodas and coffee through a straw.

How much does it cost to get your teeth bleached at the dentist?

The average range is anywhere from $350-$700 and up. It depends upon the type of whitening that is done. Many offices have periodic promotions. The in-office procedure is much stronger than OTC kits, but you can try a kit to see if you tolerate the process of bleaching and then later have it done at the dentist%26#039;s office. At-home bleaching is a more gradual and subtle process, and you would need to do it daily for at least 10 days if not 2 weeks. Hope this helps.

How much does it cost to get your teeth bleached at the dentist?
I think it%26#039;s pretty expensive (and probably not covered by insurance at all because it%26#039;s a cosmetic procedure). I would recommend getting an at-home kit from the drug store like the Crest White Strips (which I have used), or the Aquafresh trays.

Is it very expensive to get your teeth bleached?

The products at the drugstore work well. I%26#039;ve used them. But if you mean getting the blue light treatment at a dentist, I believe it costs around $500.

Is it very expensive to get your teeth bleached?
The drugstore treatments are around $20-40.00. A custom tray made at your dentists office and whitening material from them (which is more powerful, and less likely to irritate your gums) is around 300.00-400.00 to start w/ refills ranging around 25.00-40.00. An in office treatment can be anywhere from 600-1000 + depending on where you are and how many gimmicks you like, the light really doesn%26#039;t do anything to increase the effectiveness of the bleach material, so I wouldn%26#039;t pay for it.

Printing

Around how much does it cost to get the teeth bleached? Does it actually work?

It can cost anywhere from 300-600. There are two diff kinds if you go to a dentist office. One is bleaching trays where they will make impressions of your teeth and make you bleaching trays for your take home bleaching(which is easier and cheaper and you will see results within a few days) OR there is the in office bleaching(which is more expensive) it takes 2 hours and you are sitting there with your teeth under this lazer light. when you are done you are more sensitive to that than the bleaching trays. The different brands vary, there is zoom and britesmile, ive done both and i like britesmile better. Good luck!

Oh and ive done bleaching trays as well. I like bleaching trays, its easier for me since i am student as i have to do is pop them in while i am studying and at the same time your bleaching your teeth. another thing, with the in office bleaching, you see results right away, if you do decide to do the in office bleaching, take advil before and after because you will get sensitive. hope this helps!

Around how much does it cost to get the teeth bleached? Does it actually work?
use water and baking soda to make a paste put on your teeth and leave it there for about 10-15 minutes then rinse out your mouth and your teeth should be whiter
Reply:had it done i year ago. $700.00.they use bleach and laser light. it lasts until you drink coffee, wine--red, or anything else that stains teeth. it,s short lived.

How much would it cost to have your teeth bleached?
I%26#039;d recommend a take home kit from the dentist. It%26#039;ll run you about $200, and they will give you all the bleaching materials and custom made trays.
Reply:well. i dont know exactly, but even if you had insurance, i dont think it would cover that

Reply:About 30 bucks for white strips. They take a week or so, but they really work.
Reply:about 59 cents....baking soda does wonders
Reply:Try crest strips first.... decent product and if they don%26#039;t work that well, hey, 30 bucks isn%26#039;t that big an investment. if all you have a few years of coffee stains you%26#039;ll be ok.

barring that, you can expect to pay $125-175 per ARCH (like upper vs. lower) to bleach. I only bleached my upper cuz no one sees my lowers. Even tho%26#039; I own my practice, I still don%26#039;t feel like bleaching the lowers so think about what you show when you smile/talk.

This is for a take home tray. I think these are more cost effective than the in-office laser whitening (ZOOM brand) which is way more money and not really better results; just faster. The only reason to do this, i think is if you%26#039;re like, %26quot;Oh, i have a wedding next week!....%26quot;

Lastly, bleaching is strictly cosmetic, so no insurance will ever cover it. They barely care about your actually dental function and health (they%26#039;re out to make money$$$!) they sure as heck don%26#039;t care how white your teeth are.

good luck!

bread yogurt, water? i dunno really just guessing...

Reply:No
Reply:only food...not metal, grass or garbage
Reply:nothing ive done it
Reply:i don%26#039;t know but instead of bleaching your teeth u should eat cranbarries and drink cranberry juice so that your teeth will be white. Cranberries are natures natural teeth whiteners.
Reply:You should be able to eat normally. Avoid, extreme temp foods (too hot or cold). Also, I used toothpaste - Sensodyne, it%26#039;s really quells sensitivity ....
Reply:You can eat as soon as you are finished. I suggest that you stay away from anything that may restain the enamel such as coffee, tea, red wine, smoking. The enamel is like a sponge after whitening, therefore it readily soaks up rich colours in foods and drinks. Its best to stay away from these during your whitening process. After whitening is done its best to limit these food and drinks as well if you want to keep them their whitest shade. Your teeth may be a bit sensitve after whitening so you may want to stay away from anything too hot or too cold..it will sentle down after a day or two but if the sensitivity persist try sensodyne tooth paste. I hope this helped.
Reply:I would recommend eating %26quot;white%26quot; foods...pasta with alfredo sauce, white bread, white rice. It has to be something colorless to avoid staining your teeth...especially right after the bleaching procedure. Bleaching your teeth involves weakening the enamel, so if you eat colored foods, such as spaghetti sauce, wine, etc there is a tendency for the teeth to get stained again since the protective coating (enamel) is not at its optimal condition.

Do you know if you can get your teeth bleached while pregnant? if not, why?

thats is not true it depend on how many months you are. i was 7 months and had 4 crowns put on. bleaching doesnt require anything going into your system. it is a simple procedure .. gel on your teeth and a light and boom your done.

Do you know if you can get your teeth bleached while pregnant? if not, why?
you can not get them bleached by a dentist but using baking soda instead of tooth paste should brighten them after a few weeks of use it tasste bad and don%26#039;t swallow it but make a paste and brush your teeth it is natural
Reply:You are not suppose to bleach your teeth while you are pregnant or nursing. There is something in the whitening material that is harmful to the fetus. If you have any questions about it, consult with your dentist or OB-GYN. Good luck
Reply:i agree with justine... bleaching is not recommended in pregnant patients. why risk the health of your baby for something that can be done after they are born? the chemicals--namely hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide--can be ingested by the pregnant mother. while the risk is small, it is a risk nonetheless. the manufacturer%26#039;s instructions will specifically prohibit use during pregnancy. using a tartar control toothpaste can remove some stains and at least keep you at your current shade.

How much does it cost it get your teeth bleached?

My dentist told me that the store bought whitening products are just as good as long as you get the one that has the highest percentage of carbamide and hydrogen peroxide in the ingredients since this is what is used to whiten the teeth.

How much does it cost it get your teeth bleached?
I asked my dentist and he said around $300.00 and insurance doesn%26#039;t cover because it is cosmetic. He said to try Crest Whitening strips which is much cheaper.
Reply:Our office charges $250 for both arches for custom tray bleaching, or $150 per arch. If you do it through a dental office, you may be required to have recent x-rays, as you can hurt the teeth with the bleach if there are any cavities that exist. The result at the dental office will generally be better than a store-bought solution such as Crest White Strips, because the trays are custom-adapted to the teeth.

How much does it cost to get teeth bleached without insurance?
if you%26#039;re talking about the bleaching kits provided by the dentist (where they make an actual mold of your teeth and give it to you to use at home), that wasn%26#039;t even covered by my insurance, even though i HAD insurance.

it cost $500 even. sigh.
Reply:There is this zoom whitening and thats about $400 .. its an hour at the dentist and they put stuff on your teeth and use a bright light to make your teeth white. drastically changes it whiter
Reply:99.9% of insurance companies do not cover bleaching, ever. sorry. however, if you want to bleach your teeth you should try the Crest White Strips. Your teeth will brighten up a shade or maybe just a half shade. Every tooth is different and some teeth bleach better than others. If your teeth have a shade of gray or brown then they most likely will not change dramatically. if the color of your teeth is more on a yellow/orange side then they will bleach better. If you have filings on your front teeth, be careful, because the tooth structure around those fillings will change but not the filling. then you will have areas on the teeth that look like dark spots.

Bleach from a dental office typically costs anywhere from 200 to 400$. this is for the gel that you take home and put in a custom made tray for two weeks. if you want to laser bleach (which i don%26#039;t suggest), it typically runs about 500-800$ depending on where you go. my advice is, if you don%26#039;t have any fillings in the front teeth, then try the crest white strips. if you do have fillings there talk to your DDS first. just ask. some offices even offer free bleaching w/your first visit. good luck!

Depends on your habits. If you were a smoker, or a coffee drinker or whatever before you went to the dentist, and you still continue to maintain those habits, then the bleaching won%26#039;t last as long. But it should last with proper upkeep for 2 years.

How do I neutralize the terrible shooting pain, after a tooth bleaching session?

Last time the Dentist prescribed Vicodin- I just felt loopy and nauseated, but still had tooth pain. Anybody have any suggestions?

How do I neutralize the terrible shooting pain, after a tooth bleaching session?
Ask him for Darvaset, I had it for two massive ankle surgeries and it helps you if you are hypersensative to Vicodin. Also try oragel that really helps.... baby formula it will numb you up more!
Reply:Normally, you should consult your doctor... but maybe you can use orajel or use a toothpaste that has baking soda in it. Perhaps it will neutralize the effects.
Reply:The ingredients in the bleaching material, usually peroxide is causing the pain. To neutralize it, use a toothpaste that has a higher concentration of fluoride or ask your dentist to give you a fluoride treatment at your next cleaning visit. Your dentist may even prescribe a toothpaste or topical that contain clinical strength fluoride to reverse the sensitivity. Fluoride penetrate into enamel and protects root surfaces, reducing sensitivity/pain.
Reply:I agree with Sando 100%. I%26#039;m just supporting her excellent answer so you don%26#039;t think it is necessary to use narcotic pain killers after bleaching.

Crest Pro Health with stannous fluoride 0.4% is new on the market and available without a prescription. It%26#039;s a good place to start.

Could a cavity be forming if I'm getting a rotten smell from between 1 or 2 pairs of my back teeth?

I got back on the flossing tip about a year ago when I got my teeth bleached and as my dental coverage ceased. Since then, I%26#039;ve been good at it and actually fixed my gingivitis.

I still have my molars for the record though, and I get this foul smell from between from my top wisdoms and tooth in front of them on each side of my mouth. Smell like a cavity and I can only floss %26quot;so well%26quot;. Should I just get them pulled out, as I don%26#039;t have any discomfort from them since they grew out nearly perfect. Thanks!

Could a cavity be forming if I%26#039;m getting a rotten smell from between 1 or 2 pairs of my back teeth?
The reason that you should have your wisdom teeth taken out is because most people do not have a large enough jaw to support them so when they do come in they will cause your teeth to shift and move. The other reason is they are so far back that it is hard to clean them properly so it is easier for them to get infected. Your wisdom teeth have come in just fine but as you said you can%26#039;t floss between them very well so they can cause a cavity to form on your wisdom tooth and the tooth in front of it. It is best to have them taken out. Go see an oral surgeon to have them taken out. They can put you to sleep to have them extracted so you will not know what is going on. It will be over before you know it. Good Luck.
Reply:From the work experience I have had for 20 years dentistry and oral surgery you should have your wisdom teeth pulled. There isn%26#039;t enough room for a tooth brush to fit properly.

Even if they came in straight and you have enough room it is a breeding ground for bacteria.

I paid 500$ to have my teeth bleached and they still r not white!?
Unfortunately, not every can get the results they want. It all depends on what colour your tooth and it%26#039;s stain is. Typically, if people have %26quot;greyish toned%26quot; stain before the treatment, it doesn%26#039;t work very well and your dentist should have told you this ahead of time. If you have %26quot;yellowish toned%26quot; stain it usually works better. But the difference between grayish and yellowish stain is VERY subtle and you might not have known the difference without the advice of a professional. You shouldn%26#039;t have to go back for another treatment especially if it%26#039;s a one time treatment. I would still go back and tell them you%26#039;re not happy with your results, they may be able to offer you different treatment.

Reply:When you get your teeth bleached, they tend to turn an ugly gray color a few days after the process is done. If you are still unhappy with the results, talk to your dentist. Depending on what type of bleaching he/she did, they can let you know if your teeth needed another treatment due to excessive yellowing.

One thing that can help is finding a lipstick color which makes your teeth look whiter. That is usual a color close to the color of your gums, but not always.

Another thing is some people are given instructions after their bleaching to avoid food with any color in it after the process is done. Did your dentist give you do%26#039;s and don%26#039;ts for after the treatment?

Other types of bleaching (whitening) work dramatically, like ZOOM, which is used on Extreme Makeover.

If your dentist won%26#039;t return your calls for information, then find a new dentist who gives better service. Your teeth%26#039;s health can actually be an indicator of likelihood of getting heart disease. Some studies suggest it is because of a certain bacteria that lives in poorly taken care of mouths. Others think it is that people who value dental cleanings also value their health enough to do proactive things to stay healthy.

I wouldn%26#039;t pay another $500. I%26#039;d buy some Simply White. One package of it should get your teeth white within 15 days. You%26#039;ll want to buy the box that contains the pre-treating rinse and tray that holds the bleach against your teeth without having to worry about if your teeth are completely covered.
Reply:It really depends on what shade your teeth were before. Not all teeth bleach the same nor will everyone walk out with chicklet white teeth. Teeth that have a natural yellow tint to them tend to bleach easier and get the best results. Teeth that have a natural gray tint to them do not bleach very well. In the first 12-24 hours you teeth may lighten up a tiny bit more but don%26#039;t expect it. If you have had any crowns or white fillings on the teeth that were bleached they will NOT whiten at all.

I%26#039;m sorry your not happy with your results but your dentist and hygienist should have explained things a little better to you. You can use over the counter whitening stripes like the ones by Crest and use to see if you can get them any whiter.

Is is ok to have my teeth bleached when I'm breast feeding?

And is ZOOM! a good method?

Is is ok to have my teeth bleached when I%26#039;m breast feeding?
it should be fine. zoom is good but casuses severe sensitivity during (i have seen patients in tears and they quit 1/2 way through the procedure). i still recommend the custom made trays with take home gel. this puts you in control and works really well.
Reply:Hi,

No, absolutely unsafe.

rgds,
Reply:Not WHILE you are breast feeding... I would put the baby down in case the bleach spilled on his head. :)

Seriously; I know of no reason that it could possibly affect the baby.
Reply:well, can you dye your hair while you%26#039;re still breastfeeding?? what%26#039;s the difference, ammonia or bleach... lol

if you%26#039;re really uncertain, go talk to your pediatrician and your obgyn. they%26#039;ll tell you the best answer, not some loser on the internet...ooo, that%26#039;s me :)

Who thinks that it's rich for Chandler to ask Ross, "Yeah, what was wrong with your old... human teeth?"

In a Friends episode Ross gets his teeth bleached and Chandler asks him the above question, despite Matthew Perry having had quite extensive work carried out on his own teeth.

Who thinks that it%26#039;s rich for Chandler to ask Ross, %26quot;Yeah, what was wrong with your old... human teeth?%26quot;
I remember that episode. It was hilarious. Ross%26#039;s teeth were unnaturally, glaring white! That was the point of the episode. Just like the episode where Ross had the glaring, unnatural suntan when he did not turn at the right times at the fake tan spray booth. Perry%26#039;s personal dental work should have no bearing on Chandler. Perry also went through prescription drug addiction and conquered it. Chandler did not. Actors are allowed their own separate lives. Just a friendly opinion from a Friends fan.
Reply:Ross whitened his teeth and left the stuff on so long they kinda glowed, vv v funny episode lol. funny line 2.

chandleris a character and doesnt knowthat matthew Perry had work done lol
Reply:Its good.... it was a really good one
Reply:OMG. I laughed so hard at that one. Where they were like glowing in the black light. I love when actors make fun of themselves in a round about way.
Reply:I thought that was one of the funniest episodes. It reminded me of the cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland when you could see Ross%26#039;s smile in the dark!
Reply:That excellent
Reply:Do you have a life?

It%26#039;s a TV S H O W...It isn%26#039;t real , you know.

THEY ARE A C T O R S, acting out a script OTHER people have written.

The question YOU should be asking yourself is %26quot;Do I have a life?%26quot;
Reply:i loved that episode..ross%26#039; teeth glowed in his date%26#039;s black light...that cracked me up...and i am sure in real life they all had work done on their teeth when they became stars.
Reply:That episode gave me stitch, where can i get teeth like that. I also loved the one with the spray tan, oh i miss them guys so much.......................
Reply:cant believe people watch such rubbish
Reply:it%26#039;s only a tv programme!!!
Reply:ross had teeth that glowed in the dark, wonder why that would spook anyone out. but ross is a nerd.

chandler%26#039;s my favourite and the funniest, followed by joey. they should have had a chandler and joey spin-off. the joey spin-off was humourless. sack the scripwriters.

all actors have extensive work done to their teeth, models and anyone who can afford it. not so much in britain cos the nhs dentist stink, when you can find one.

Going to the dentist getting teeth cleaned getting a filling gettting teeth bleached eek......?

does any of that hurt?

Going to the dentist getting teeth cleaned getting a filling gettting teeth bleached eek......?
Hi! No it does not. In fact, you will not feel anything. The needle pinch is so tiny now, most people don%26#039;t even feel it. I haven%26#039;t had a patient complain in years. The drilling is only a few minutes and the filling bonded to your teeth using a UV light. The bleaching is just a light sensitive material that will pull the stains from you teeth as it dries with a light. So unless you have had any experience with light rays hurting, I would say simply, bring your iPod, relax and you will be on your way home before you have time to think about it. M
Reply:no, the cleaning is prolly the worst b/c sometimes they pick the plague from your teeth hard and it hurts the gums. other then that its not painful at all just a little weird feeling.
Reply:tooth cleaning or oral prophylaxis does not hurt specially if the dentist becomes very careful not to tear the gums.in filling it depends on the carious lession to be removed the deeper the cavity the more sensitive the tooth it will be,but eventually the teeth will recover.

I want to get my teeth bleached, is it a good idea? Is there any side effects?

I think it%26#039;s a great idea, especially if you have discoloration in your teeth. I%26#039;ve always had white teeth, but I tried it. My teeth were very sensitive, but only for about 24 hours. I didn%26#039;t even finish the last %26quot;pass%26quot; because it really did hurt at the time I was getting it done. (take a pain killer before you go, just to numb yourself a bit ;) My friend had it done as well, and hers had a more dramatic effect since she is a smoker and had more discoloration. It can have an amazing result. I would highly recommend it. Get past the first 24 hours and you%26#039;ll be happy you did it. As for the damage to your teeth, it%26#039;s not like you will do it over and over again. Even one time will help you bring a whiter shade. It took years of abuse to discolor your teeth, but you can start with a clean slate and you%26#039;ll look much better. I have not noticed any (permanent) increased sensitivity since I did it.

I want to get my teeth bleached, is it a good idea? Is there any side effects?
yeah

roots
Reply:no way, it%26#039;s really simple. they bleach them and it%26#039;s done. your teeth look great. there are no side effects.
Reply:I am not too sure but I think that when your teeth get bleached they become sensitive to cold and hot food.....But I am not too sure...I would recommend calling a dentist office that does it and ask them....They should be able to tell you...
Reply:Sure they look great after, but you may notice that they become sensitive.
Reply:Bleached teeth look stunning, but you may want to keep in mind-

As you get older, your teeth will become weak. As you become really old, they will shrivel away.

The bleach is harsh on your teeth, and deducts so many years of strength from the enamel.
Reply:Its a perfect idea, specially u will feel more confidence. But side effect r.... they make ur teeth weak and thin. and persistent bleaching makes them transparent... which can have a crack in the later age. but for one time... yes u can go for it.
Reply:If you have really sensitive teeth, it hurts for awhile after. Also, if you are a cola, tea or coffee drinker your teeth will get stained again.

But it does look fabulous. Beauty comes with pain.
Reply:Yes there can be side effects from bleaching your teeth. Extreme sensitivity and far worse if you become a bleach addict! For the most part you should be safe.
Reply:well that is something you should ask your dentist.
Reply:It%26#039;s good. The only bad thing is that you%26#039;ll be sore for a while. Happy New Year!
Reply:If you can stand it, they become incredibly sensitive! I only tried the paint on stuff and man were they sensitive!
Reply:You can get that done safely at your dentist. HE can tell you how many shades lighter you can go without causing damage or brittleness. Just don%26#039;t do it all of the time.
Reply:You want to be careful. Store bought bleaches can make your teeth brittle, and they can become easily broken. However, having a dentist bleach your teeth would be the safer route.
Reply:Often teeth whitening can lead to teeth sensitivity. After I whitened my teeth, my teeth had severe sensitivity to anything I%26#039;d drink. It took nearly two days before this pain subsided. It was pretty awful. Now years later my dentist tells me the whitening damaged the enamel on my teeth and I still experience sensitivity on occastion to cold and acidic foods. I%26#039;d recommend doing it in short intervals if you do an at home kit like Crest white strips. The longer you keep them on the more damage it can cause but some people don%26#039;t experience any side effects, so it%26#039;s best to start slow. If you have a dentist whiten them, you might check with them to see if these are the same side effects their patients experience. Good luck to a whiter smile.
Reply:well it is a good idea if you want a beautiful smile.and whiter teeth.but there is one side effect that i know of beach weakens your teeth.
Reply:go for it

Have you ever had your teeth bleached proffessionly, i want to have it done but so many people take the mick?

dont worry about getting your teeth bleached it will look good

i got the laser thing done , it worked soo good! ( 2 hour setting) but im sure theres other things too
Reply:yes I%26#039;ve had them done and believe me no one will take the mick if anything they%26#039;ll be complementing you on your new bright smile
Reply:My dentist sold me the bleaching solution for home use. It%26#039;s prescription strength and much stronger than the store bought whitening strips. It was about $300. I used it once a day for about 30 minutes per day. After about uses my teeth were MUCH whiter than when I started.
Reply:My dentist gave me the home kit and I noticed results just a few days after I first started using it. I was very happy with it.

Can you get your teeth bleached if they are bonded?

how much does it cost?

Can you get your teeth bleached if they are bonded?
Probably not, but I%26#039;m not a dentist, so don%26#039;t take that literally. Best bet would be to call your dentist and ask. Also, I believe teeth whitening runs about $300.

I would recommend trying the Crest Teeth Whitening strips for a couple weeks and see how that goes. That should run you around $30-40.

Best way to get teeth bleached?

Overall I would say that most of my patient%26#039;s have had some measure of success with the Crest Whitestrips, some more than others. My Mother in Law%26#039;s teeth look fabulous! Our office uses Crest Supreme which are much stronger than what you can buy in a drugstore and don%26#039;t cost that much more ($60.00). You can purchase the drugstore version, but do yourself of using them right after you get your teeth cleaned as any staining and buildup (tartar or plaque) will impede their ability to work. Also, don%26#039;t use fluoride toothpaste before putting the strips on (same reason). The strips are probably your best low price alternative, much less than in office whitening or custom trays (about $500.00). Good luck!

Best way to get teeth bleached?
In-office bleaching by the dentist. Usually something like ZOOM Whitening (though expensive).

Aquafresh trays are good (follow directions!!) for home care.

But the best and most reliable way, is the in-office bleaching done by a professional.
Reply:zoom whitening(1 to2 hour whitening in office visit) is really great and quick but very costly$600,but very worth it... if you are looking for a cheaper way to bleach, crest whitestrips work really well..seen many patients in the office that use it too...and i noticed a big difference in the whitness of there teeth...i use it too because it is cheap and effective..
Reply:first of all you should know what kind of discoloration you have

best solution for internal discolorations ( like flourosis ) is veneering or having full crowns

external colors are more easy

i recommend home bleaching ( night wight ... or other )

or plasma bleach

Has anybody had their teeth bleached by their dentist? If so, is it painful? I hear it is. Please help!?

it is verrry painful. i just got my braces off and i had to get my teeth bleached becuase there are some line marks on my teeth from the braces. it feels like all ur teeth are falling out and needles poke-ing all over your gum. its very horrifying. i will never get my teeth bleached every again in my life. GOOD LUCK~

Has anybody had their teeth bleached by their dentist? If so, is it painful? I hear it is. Please help!?
it is painful if they do not have a good dam built to protect the gums...it can burn the hell out of your gums. As a rule, this is not a problem, but I had it done, and their was some burning. Good luck
Reply:I work at a dental office, and I had my teeth bleached there with the 1 hour in office whitening procedure. It should not hurt. If it does, it%26#039;s my guess they didn%26#039;t do all the steps properly. There is a pasty material applied to your gums to block the whitening gel from getting on them. If this is done carefully then there is no reason it should hurt. It%26#039;s a very painless procedure. Afterwards your teeth can be sensitive to hot and cold though, so be careful with that for a couple days.
Reply:Everyone%26#039;s experience is different. More often than not, yes it causes some %26quot;discomfort%26quot;. Personally, it hurts like hell, you can%26#039;t breathe or drink without zinging for a couple of days %26amp; you tend to drool a lot for some reason. But it%26#039;s the price you pay for beauty %26amp; it%26#039;s worth it after the initial adjustment to pain.
Reply:All effective whitening processes cause the tiny tubes in your tooth enamal to open, causing increased sensitivity. Each individual has a different level of discomfort - some minor, some very painful.

A treatment of fluoride before and after such a treatment does wonders for the sensitivity. A dental office doing %26quot;Zoom%26quot; or other brands of in-office whitening should offer fluoride trays to reduce discomfort.

Teeth whitening?

Does anyone know teeth bleaching toothpastes? that are really effective? thats actually work and are affordable?

Teeth whitening?
Do, these Nature Cure :

Dental care %26amp; mouth care.

After every meal, chew a little salt and gargle with water. Soft brush can be used to clean the particles caught between the teeth and the gums. Make it habit to clean the teeth every morning and before retiring to bed. In India, people use thin twig of a Babul, Banyan or a Neem tree (known as Datoon) as a brush. First it is to be crushed to make it soft and then use it like a brush. It is advisable to us a Datoon of Babul, Banyan or Neem tree at least once a day.

It is reported by experienced dentists that tooth pastes available in the marked are not much effective. Instead, the following tooth powder or paste which can be easily made at home has been found quite useful for the care of gums and teeth :

1. Tooth Powder : Mixture of finely ground alum powder 40% and rock salt or regular salt powder 60%. For better results, a few drops of lemon may be added. In case of dental problems, adding a little of %26#039;Sudarshan%26#039; (a bitter Ayrvedic powder is also recommended.

2. Tooth-paste : For dental problemslike bleeding, pyorrhoea, toothache, etc. make a paste of

50% alum powder

10% rock salt or table salt powder

10% Sudarshan powder (an Ayurvedic preparation)

15% edible oil (unrefined)

10% glycerine tanic acid

5% camphor.

The paste made of this mixture can be massaged on the teeth and gums in the morning and evening with fingers. It ca be packed in collapsible tubes/jars and used, as tooth-paste.

3. Even massaging the gums with a mixture of 70% unrefined edible oil (seasame or groundnut or coconut), 15% glycerine tanic acid and 15% fine powder of rock salt or table salt is useful for good, healthy teeth and gums. Make it a daily habit. Please not that healthy gums are more useful than sparkling white teeth.

4. Mouth Freshener : Gargling with a lemon juice mixed with lukewarm water, freshens the mouth. Take a quarter of a lemon, massage it on teeth and gums and then gargle with water. Even chewing of mango, tulsi or betel leaves after meals is good, and so it is advised in India.

5. Exercises for teeth : Keep the lips closed. Pound the upper teeth on lower teeth for 30 to 40 times twice a day. Then massage the saliva on gums with the tongue. That will ensure proper blood circulation in teeth and increase the life of healthy teeth and gums.
Reply:welll i use colgate some weighting one

u can use a weighting toothpaste and just brush ur teeth after every meal and everytime you eat candy and hummm ull be fine white as pearls lol
Reply:Donat smoke, brush moring and nite everyday. Take your calcium tablets for good teeth and bones. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and veggys. Toothpastes and all that cosmetic stuff wont make your teeth white. It all comes from within, so take care and look after your self.
Reply:Might taste strange but bicarbonate of soda really does work without damaging the enamel.
Reply:I have pretty white teeth. I floss often and use the Reach brand, woven floss. My teeth are straight and very close together. This floss gets into those tight cracks and makes your mouth feel so clean. I use the Sensodyne whitening toothpaste, and find that it works very good. From time to time I also use crest white strips, just because I like coffee. Drinking water is very good too. I have tried the other brand name whiteners, and find that they do not work for me.
Reply:Teeh whitening toothpsate is cheap and affortable way to whitening your teeth..

Try GoSmile Nighttime Therapy P.M. Toothpaste

http://www.myinformationz.info/teethwhit...
Reply:always do brush twice a day.take one or two mint leaves every day or any mint chewing gum.do mouth wash after every meal.avoid eating chocolate.take one pinch of salt after every meal because it is anti-bacterial
Reply:I%26#039;m not too sure abt it. However, there are many ways to whiten your teeth.

Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth!

For home remedies.

Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month.

Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening.

Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth.

Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains.

If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here%26#039;s something for you!

Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night
