The other day i was at the dentist and overheard the lady at the front desk talking with somebody saying how when they got home they were going to bleach their teeth. WHat do they mean by that? Do they actually use bleach?
if so i would like to know how to too... =D
What does it mean to bleach your teeth?
Actual chlorine bleach (like what you would use for your clothes) is not used to whiten your teeth. The front desk staff was probably referring to whitening (often called bleaching) her teeth with a product like crest whitestrips. Other methods for %26quot;whitening%26quot; can include wearing a custom tray (like a sports mouth guard specially made to fit) in your mouth with a gel in it or a generic tray with gel in it. A commonly used whitening gel is carbamide peroxide and has been used for many years now in the dental field. Hope that helps!

Reply:No you use a product like crest white strips to whiten aka bleach your teeth.
Reply:It is not bleach, that is just the term used. It is a whitener that you can guy from the dentist. This is not the same as the junk you buy in the grocery store to whiten teeth. The dentist will make a mold of your teeth and then you squirt this whitener in the try and sleep with the tray on your teeth all night. You do this for several nights and your teeth will be much whiter and much brighter. It works.
Reply:THIS IS A PROCEDURE TO MAKE YOUR TEETH SUPER WHITE. IN OTHER WORDS IN A DARK ROOM YOUR TEETH WILL SHOW UP AND THE REST OF YOU WONT.
Reply:HELLO DUDE,
BY BLEACHING THEIR TEETH AT HOME WHAT THEY MEANT WAS THAT THEY WERE GOING TO WHITEN THEM WITH THE KIT SUPPLIED BY THE DENTIST.
NEVER USE HOUSEHOLD BLEACH FOR THIS BECAUSE IT IS A POISON AND WILL KILL EVERYTHING IT TOUCHES.
Reply:its this like kit that you buy, and it has like little trays that you dip in hot water and mold it to your teeth size, then you put drops of this special gel. i dont thinbk its really bleach, but just ask the dentist whch kind you can get.
and you can bleach you teeth by making a paste w/ baking soda, and brushing them
hope that helps!
