Internal bleaching of a tooth after root canal.?

Did anyone receive internal bleaching of a tooth after root canal? Im getting one on my front tooth and want to find the best procedure to hide a darkened tooth. Did internal bleaching give a satisfactory colour, or is another method (veneer etc.) necessary. I don%26#039;t trust cosmetic websites that promise miracles. Thanks.

You can have it internally bleached to prevent discoloration. However, a crown is normally recommended for root canaled teeth b/c they become brittle b/c they are dead after the root canal and many times will break off years later b/c they are so brittle. The worry about this is when root canaled teeth break they often break down the root and then have to be removed. All that money becomes wasted. Do yourself a favor and get the crown right after the root canal.
Reply:I had to have a root canal in my front tooth years ago and it worked very well and I like it better than the veneer.

It will continue to discolor as the years go on so you need to have it done again a few years later which your regular dentist can do. Not really a problem but it will cost a bit to get it done again and it%26#039;s a two step process like it was the first time, something I hope to do later this year.
