I want to get my teeth bleached, is it a good idea? Is there any side effects?

I think it%26#039;s a great idea, especially if you have discoloration in your teeth. I%26#039;ve always had white teeth, but I tried it. My teeth were very sensitive, but only for about 24 hours. I didn%26#039;t even finish the last %26quot;pass%26quot; because it really did hurt at the time I was getting it done. (take a pain killer before you go, just to numb yourself a bit ;) My friend had it done as well, and hers had a more dramatic effect since she is a smoker and had more discoloration. It can have an amazing result. I would highly recommend it. Get past the first 24 hours and you%26#039;ll be happy you did it. As for the damage to your teeth, it%26#039;s not like you will do it over and over again. Even one time will help you bring a whiter shade. It took years of abuse to discolor your teeth, but you can start with a clean slate and you%26#039;ll look much better. I have not noticed any (permanent) increased sensitivity since I did it.

Reply:no way, it%26#039;s really simple. they bleach them and it%26#039;s done. your teeth look great. there are no side effects.
Reply:I am not too sure but I think that when your teeth get bleached they become sensitive to cold and hot food.....But I am not too sure...I would recommend calling a dentist office that does it and ask them....They should be able to tell you...
Reply:Sure they look great after, but you may notice that they become sensitive.
Reply:Bleached teeth look stunning, but you may want to keep in mind-

As you get older, your teeth will become weak. As you become really old, they will shrivel away.

The bleach is harsh on your teeth, and deducts so many years of strength from the enamel.
Reply:Its a perfect idea, specially u will feel more confidence. But side effect r.... they make ur teeth weak and thin. and persistent bleaching makes them transparent... which can have a crack in the later age. but for one time... yes u can go for it.
Reply:If you have really sensitive teeth, it hurts for awhile after. Also, if you are a cola, tea or coffee drinker your teeth will get stained again.

But it does look fabulous. Beauty comes with pain.
Reply:Yes there can be side effects from bleaching your teeth. Extreme sensitivity and far worse if you become a bleach addict! For the most part you should be safe.
Reply:well that is something you should ask your dentist.
Reply:It%26#039;s good. The only bad thing is that you%26#039;ll be sore for a while. Happy New Year!
Reply:If you can stand it, they become incredibly sensitive! I only tried the paint on stuff and man were they sensitive!
Reply:You can get that done safely at your dentist. HE can tell you how many shades lighter you can go without causing damage or brittleness. Just don%26#039;t do it all of the time.
Reply:You want to be careful. Store bought bleaches can make your teeth brittle, and they can become easily broken. However, having a dentist bleach your teeth would be the safer route.
Reply:Often teeth whitening can lead to teeth sensitivity. After I whitened my teeth, my teeth had severe sensitivity to anything I%26#039;d drink. It took nearly two days before this pain subsided. It was pretty awful. Now years later my dentist tells me the whitening damaged the enamel on my teeth and I still experience sensitivity on occastion to cold and acidic foods. I%26#039;d recommend doing it in short intervals if you do an at home kit like Crest white strips. The longer you keep them on the more damage it can cause but some people don%26#039;t experience any side effects, so it%26#039;s best to start slow. If you have a dentist whiten them, you might check with them to see if these are the same side effects their patients experience. Good luck to a whiter smile.
Reply:well it is a good idea if you want a beautiful smile.and whiter teeth.but there is one side effect that i know of beach weakens your teeth.
Reply:go for it
