Is this a normal reaction to professional bleaching?

i had my teeth bleached by my dentist last weekend and last night i noticed that my teeth hurt when i drank anything cold or ate hot soup...they were never sensitive to temperature before (i used to eat ice chips with no problem) so the only thing i can think of that caused it was the bleaching...is this only temporary? is there anything i can do at home (products) that will get rid of the sensitivity? anyone have any suggestions (besides saying talk to the dentist..ive already emailed his office and left a voicemail for him so im waiting to hear back)

Is this a normal reaction to professional bleaching?
normally the sensitivity goes away in about 24 hours, if you ate ice chips before, you probably have a hairline fractures in your teeth... this would have made the bleaching process ultra sensitive... did you notice this??

Take 200 - 400 mg of Advil for the discomfort, were you given relief gel (fluoride) to bathe the sensitive areas??
Reply:This is normal. I had the same thing after bleaching. It is temporary and it will go away.
Reply:temporary
Reply:It will go away in a couple of weeks or so.
