How can I whitten my teeth naturally without having the dentist bleach them?
brush with baking soda.
Reply:You can brush with baking soda, and even put a little peroxide in there.
Reply:Congrats on kicking the habit! That will make a huge difference (positive, of course) in your health.

My dad is a dentist and doesn't think in-office bleaching treatments are any better than Crest Whitestrips. As long as you follow the directions properly, you'll see whitening effects over time.

The baking soda idea is good, too.
Reply:Baking soda, whitening toothpaste, crest thin-strips, whitening listerine. There's so much stuff you can try these days that are safe for your enamel. You may want to go to the dentist just for a regular routine cleaning, that will help get rid of some of the gunk left over.
Reply:I've tried several over the counter teeth whitening products, and I've had a lot of success with them as long as I follow the directions and keep doing them everyday. Make sure your brushing your teeth 2-3 times a day with a whitening toothpaste. It's gonna take a couple weeks, so don't give up if you don't see dramatic improvement in the first couple days.
Reply:Brush with H2SO4.
Reply:I'm not sure if it works or not, but I received an email about the wonders of peroxide and here is the ex cert about whittning.

1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe.) No more canker sores, and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash.

Another natural way is to brush with plain baking soda.
Reply:You can use whitening toothpaste and also try peroxide the reg. little brown bottle just hold it in your mouth just like mouth wash! or try a mixture of baking soda powder and peroxide and brush your teeth with it =)
Reply:Try peroxide. You can either brush your teeth with it or let it sit in your mouth for a few minutes. Just don't swallow it. It is actually the main ingredient in Crest Whitestrips. Wish I would have known that before I bought the box!
Reply:Congrats on quitting! Whitening your teeth will make you feel better as well - smiling again and being proud of your smile rather than hiding tobacco stains makes a huge difference in how we present ourselves to the world.

It takes time, but you can use the Crest whitestrips, use whitening toothpaste or, if you can handle the taste, use baking soda as toothpaste. I personally can't do that one - it tastes horrible to me (although it might work as a great diet aide, but that's another subject).

I started with whitestrips, then moved on to whitening toothpaste. Just be aware that your teeth may get sensitive, so have a non-whitening toothpaste to trade off with every few days.

Good luck!
Reply:the Crest White Strips work wonders. After a while of using them, my teeth get sensitive
